Stabilized Linear Modification Algorithms

چکیده

Given the recurrence coefficients associated with a given weight function, the problem in question is to find the change in these coefficients if the weight is modified by a linear factor or divisor. In this paper we present two algorithms performing these computations in a stable and accurate way by working directly on the known coefficient sequences. We show how these results can be applied in the evaluation of particular integrals occurring in finite element models.
