Social Aggregation as a Cooperative Game
نویسندگان
چکیده
A new model for the description of phenomena of social aggregation is presented. On the basis of psychological concepts (social norms, cultural coordinates, and so on), we conceive a cellular automaton in which different clusters of individuals can merge according to the cooperation among the agents. In their turn, the agents can cooperate or defect according to the clusters distribution inside the system. In general, the fitness of an individual increases with the size of its cluster, but decreases with the work the individual had to do in order to join it. We see how the cooperation is the most convenient strategy only in presence of very large clusters, while on the other hand it is not necessary to have one hundred percent of cooperators for reaching a totally ordered configuration with only one megacluster filling the whole system. A mathematical model of the effect of subsidy transfer in cooperative advertising using differential game theory
This work deals with subsidy transfer from a manufacturer to a retailer through the distributor in cooperative advertising. While the retailer engages in local advertising, the manufacturer indirectly participates in retail advertising using advertising subsidy which is given to the distributor, who in turn transfers it to the retailer. The manufacturer is the Stackelberg game leader; the distr...
متن کاملCooperative aggregate production planning: a game theory approach
Production costs in general, and workforce and inventory costs in particular, constitute a large fraction of the operating costs of many manufacturing plants. We introduce cooperative aggregate production planning as a way to decrease these costs. That is, when production planning of two or more facilities (plants) is integrated, they can interchange workforce and products inventory; thus, thei...
متن کاملA novel cooperative game between client and subcontractors based on technical characteristics
Large projects often have several activities which are performed by some subcontractors with several skills. Costs and time reduction and quality improvement of the project are very important for client and subcontractors. Therefore, in real large projects, subcontractors join together and form coalitions for improving the project profit. A key question is how an extra profit of cooperation amo...
متن کاملImproved Profitability and Competition in Two Level Supply Chain by Non-Cooperative Games
This article by modeling a non-cooperative dynamic game tries to improve profitability and competition. This paper has considered how the manufacturer interacts with multiple competitor distributors. Each distributor also determines the optimal distribution price and inventory replenishment policies to maximize their profits. The issue form a non-cooperative dynamic game. Distributors formulate...
متن کاملCooperative Game Theoretic Solution Concepts for top-$k$ Problems
The problem of finding the k most critical nodes, referred to as the top-k problem, is a very important one in several contexts such as information diffusion and preference aggregation in social networks, clustering of data points, etc. It has been observed in the literature that the value allotted to a node by most of the popular cooperative game theoretic solution concepts, acts as a good mea...
