چکیده

We generalize Abrikosov-Gor’kov solution of the problem of weakly coupled superconductor with impurities on the case of a multiband superconductor with arbitrary interband order parameter anisotropy, including interband sign reversal of the order parameter. The solution is given in terms of the effective (renormalized) coupling matrix and describes not only Tc suppression but also renormalization of the superconducting gap basically at all temperatures. In many limiting cases we find analytical solutions for the critical temperature suppression. We illustrate our results by numerical calculations for two-band model systems. February 1, 2008

INVESTIGATION OF SUPERCONDUCTIVITY AND MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF BI2SR2CA2CU3O10+Θ CERAMIC SUPERCONDUCTOR WITH ADDITION OF SILICON CARBIDE NANOPARTICLES

In this research, the effect of addition of silicon carbide (SiC) nanoparticles on the improvement of the structural, superconductivity, magnetic, and flux pinning properties of high-temperature superconductor Bi1.6Pb0.4Sr2Ca2Cu3O10+θ (Bi-2223) was investigated. The Bi-2223 ceramic superconductor was prepared using the sol-gel method, and silicon carbide nanoparticles were modified by Azobisiso...

Localized anisotropic superconductors

We address the question of whether an anisotropic gap of dx2−y2 symmetry is compatible with localized states in the normal phase. The issue is important for high-Tc superconductors for which a superconductor-to-insulator transition is observed, together with a number of experiments that support d-wave pairing. We prove that d-wave superconductivity is compatible with a localized normal state. W...

Local destruction of superconductivity by non-magnetic impurities in mesoscopic iron-based superconductors

The determination of the pairing symmetry is one of the most crucial issues for the iron-based superconductors, for which various scenarios are discussed controversially. Non-magnetic impurity substitution is one of the most promising approaches to address the issue, because the pair-breaking mechanism from the non-magnetic impurities should be different for various models. Previous substitutio...

Enhancing superconductivity: Magnetic impurities and their quenching by magnetic fields

– Magnetic fields and magnetic impurities are each known to suppress superconductivity. However, as the field quenches (i.e. polarizes) the impurities, rich consequences, including field-enhanced superconductivity, can emerge when both effects are present. In superconducting wires and thin films this field-spin interplay is investigated via the EilenbergerUsadel scheme. Non-monotonic dependence...

Spectral properties of superconductors with ferromagnetically ordered magnetic impurities

We present a comprehensive theoretical study of thermodynamic properties of superconductors with a dilute concentration of magnetic impurities, with focus on how the properties of the superconducting host change if the magnetic moments of the impurities order ferromagnetically. Scattering off the magnetic impurities leads to the formation of a band of Yu-Shiba-Rusinov states within the supercon...
