Novel Dynamic Framed-Slotted ALOHA Using Litmus Slots in RFID Systems
نویسندگان
چکیده
Dynamic Framed Slotted ALOHA (DFSA) is one of the most popular protocols to resolve tag collisions in RFID systems. In DFSA, it is widely known that the optimal performance is achieved when the frame size is equal to the number of tags. So, a reader dynamically adjusts the next frame size according to the current number of tags. Thus it is important to estimate the number of tags exactly. In this paper, we propose a novel tag estimation and identification method using litmus (test) slots for DFSA. We compare the performance of the proposed method with those of existing methods by analysis. We conduct simulations and show that our scheme improves the speed of tag identification. key words: RFID, DFSA, anti-collision, collision resolution

Grouping Based Dynamic Framed Slotted ALOHA for Tag Anti-Collision Protocol in the Mobile RFID Systems
Dynamic framed slotted ALOHA (DFSA) protocol has been widely used in many RFID systems. According to the information from last frame (e.g. the number of idle, success and collision slots), DFSA dynamically adjusts the next frame size so as to reach higher identification efficiency. The process is known as tag estimation of DFSA. Similar to most existing tag anti-collision protocols, The DFSA in...
متن کاملA Frame Size Adjustment with Sub-Frame Observation for Dynamic Framed Slotted Aloha
In this paper, a simple frame size adjustment of dynamic framed slotted Aloha for tag identification in RFID networks is proposed. In dynamic framed slotted Aloha, the reader is required to announce the frame size for every frame. To achieve maximum system efficiency, it is essential to set the frame size according to the number unidentified tags appropriately. The proposed approach utilizes th...
متن کاملAn Adaptive RFID Anti-Collision Algorithm Based on Dynamic Framed ALOHA
The collision of ID signals from a large number of colocated passive RFID tags is a serious problem; to realize a practical RFID systems we need an effective anti-collision algorithm. This letter presents an adaptive algorithm to minimize the total time slots and the number of rounds required for identifying the tags within the RFID reader’s interrogation zone. The proposed algorithm is based o...

Dynamic frame slotted ALOHA (DFSA) has been widely adopted to reduce tag collisions in Ultra High Frequency (UHF) radio frequency identification (RFID) system. In the existing DFSA algorithms, the reader needs to accurately estimate tag backlog and set a new frame length which is equal to the backlog to close to the theoretical maximum throughput 36.8% of the framed ALOHA. To overcome throughpu...
متن کاملScrutinizing Behavior of a Dynamic Framed Slotted Anti-collision Algorithm for RFID Systems
Radio frequency identification systems with passive tags dramatically increase the ability of an organization to acquire a vast array of data about the location and properties of any entity that can be physically tagged and wirelessly scanned within certain technical limitations. However, if multiple tags are to be identified simultaneously, messages from the tags can collide and cancel each ot...
