LQ-based event-triggered controller co-design for saturated linear systems

چکیده
This paper deals with the simultaneous design of a state feedback law and an event-triggering condition ensuring local exponential stability and LQ performance in the presence of plant input saturation and of a communication channel between the controller output and the saturated plant input. To this aim, we adopt Lyapunov-based techniques in a hybrid framework. The design of the event-triggered control is based on two conditions: one to solve the event-triggered control co-design for LQ stabilization; the second one to adjust the co-design among all possible solutions of the first condition thanks to a tunable parameter. The proposed Lyapunov formulation yields an event-triggered algorithm to update the saturated plant input based on conditions involving the closed-loop state, while an estimate of the domain of attraction is provided. Furthermore, a tradeoff is highlighted relating the optimality level, the size of the estimate of the basin of attraction and the reduction of the amount of transmissions.

Event-triggered control with LQ optimality guarantees for saturated linear systems
Given a predesigned linear state feedback law for a linear plant ensuring (global) exponential stability of the linear closed loop, together with a certain level of performance, we address the problem of recovering (local or global) exponential stability and performance in the presence of plant input saturation and of a communication channel between the controller output and the saturated plant...

The emergence of networked control systems urges the joint consideration of control and communications. It is well known that event-based controllers outperform standard timetriggered designs, when the transmission rate is constrained. This paper studies the integral-based event-triggered asymptotic stabilization for a continuous-time linear plant. Both actuator saturation and observer-based output feedback are considered. The sensors and actuators are implemented in a decentralized manner and a type of Zeno-free decentralized integral-based event condition is designed to guarantee the asymptotic stability of the closed-loop ...
متن کاملModel-based periodic event-triggered control for linear systems
Periodic event-triggered control (PETC) is a control strategy that combines ideas from conventional periodic sampled-data control and event-triggered control. By communicating periodically sampled sensor and controller data only when needed to guarantee stability or performance properties, PETC is capable of reducing the number of transmissions significantly, while still retaining a satisfactor...
