چکیده

We present an event based system for storing, managing, and presenting personal multimedia history. At the heart of our approach is information organization using the concept of an event. Events allow modeling of the data in a manner that is independent of media. To store events, a novel database called EventBase is developed which is indexed by events. The unique characteristics of events make multidimensional querying and multiple perspective explorations of personal history information feasible. In this demo we present the major functions of eVitae.

Bring you to the past: Automatic Generation of Topically Relevant Event Chronicles

An event chronicle provides people with an easy and fast access to learn the past. In this paper, we propose the first novel approach to automatically generate a topically relevant event chronicle during a certain period given a reference chronicle during another period. Our approach consists of two core components – a timeaware hierarchical Bayesian model for event detection, and a learning-to...

Extending and Unifying Chronicle Representation with Event Counters

This paper is dedicated to the chronicle recognition approach used to design an evolution monitoring system for supervising dynamic systems for which time information is relevant. We propose to extend and also to unify the chronicle representation through event counters. The main motivation of such an extension of the chronicle representation arises from alarm processing: counting the occurrenc...

An Inductive Database for Mining Temporal Patterns in Event Sequences

Data mining aims at discovering previously unknown and potentially useful information from large collections of data. The discovered knowledge, in the form of patterns, is extracted without any extra information about data. A pattern is a representation of a concept (rules describing properties of data, clusters in databases, etc.) that generalizes some data in a database. Imielinski and Mannil...

A Chronicle-based Diagnosability Approach for Discrete Timed-event Systems: Application to Web-Services

This paper addresses the problem of diagnosability analysis in Web Services. In particular, it focuses on the analysis of the impact of time to the diagnostic capabilities in Web Service workflows. The diagnosability analysis that is proposed in this paper aims at determining the diagnostic capabilities of a previously developped algorithm for the diagnosis of Web Services. This diagnostic algo...

Learning chronicles signing multiple scenario instances

Chronicle recognition is an efficient and robust method for fault diagnosis. The knowledge about the underlying system is gathered in a set of chronicles, then the occurrence of a fault is diagnosed by analyzing the flow of observations and matching this flow with a set of available chronicles. The chronicle approach is very efficient as it relies on the direct association of the symptom, which...
