Building Special Linear System Realizations of Special Transfer Functions

چکیده
Linear sjstem realization problems require the construction of a linear system realiization, or a quadruple of real matrices F,G, H, J, of a given real rational W ( s ) , so ithat W(s) = J + H'(sI F)-'G. When W(s) has certain properties, corresponding ;to symmetry, passivity, or losslwness, it is possible to select a realization that closely (but not necessarily exactly) reflects theseproperties. We review such possibilities, then consider a new one, initially for discrete time systems: if the impulse response mociated with W is nonnegative, can the entries of the redizing matrices be chosento be nonnegative also? Necessary and barely differing sufficient conditions are presented for this to he the case.

Linear Fractional Transformations and Balanced Realization of Discrete-Time Stable All-Pass Systems
The tangential Schur algorithm provides a means of constructing the class of p×p discretetime stable all-pass transfer functions of a prescribed McMillan degree n. In each of its n iteration steps a linear fractional transformation is employed which is associated with a Jinner rational matrix of McMillan degree 1 involving certain parameters. In this set-up, the issue of generating correspondin...
متن کاملEvaluating Response Modification Factors of Concentrically Braced and Special Moment Steel Frames in Duplex Buildings
Response modification factor (R-factor) is one of the seismic design parameters to consider nonlinear performance of building structures during strong earthquake. Relying on this, many seismic design codes led to reduce earthquake loads imposed to the structure. The present paper tries to evaluate the R-factors of conventional concentric braced frames (CBFs) and special moment frames (MRFs) in ...
متن کاملNumerical Solution of Second Kind Volterra and Fredholm Integral Equations Based on a Direct Method Via Triangular Functions
A numerical method for solving linear integral equations of the second kind is formulated. Based on a special representation of vector forms of triangular functions and the related operational matrix of integration, the integral equation reduces to a linear system of algebraic equations. Generation of this system needs no integration, so all calculations can easily be implemented. Numerical res...
متن کاملFUZZY GOAL PROGRAMMING TECHNIQUE TO SOLVE MULTIOBJECTIVE TRANSPORTATION PROBLEMS WITH SOME NON-LINEAR MEMBERSHIP FUNCTIONS
The linear multiobjective transportation problem is a special type of vector minimum problem in which constraints are all equality type and the objectives are conicting in nature. This paper presents an application of fuzzy goal programming to the linear multiobjective transportation problem. In this paper, we use a special type of nonlinear (hyperbolic and exponential) membership functions to ...
