چکیده

The exocyclic C=C double-bond in the title compound, C(11)H(12)OS, has an E configuration. The methyl-bearing C atom in the cyclo-pentane ring is disordered over two positions with a site-occupation factor of 0.899 (8) for the major occupied site.

Short Note ( E ) - 3 - Methyl - 6 - ( 3 - oxo - 3 - ( thiophen - 2 - yl ) - 1 - propenyl ) - 2 ( 3 H ) - benzothiazolone

The title compound, (E)-3-methyl-6-(3-oxo-3-(thiophen-2-yl)-1-propenyl)-2(3H)-benzothiazolone, was synthesized by Claisen-Schmidt condensation of 3-methyl-2(3H)-benzothiazolone-6-carbaldehyde with 2-acetylthiophene in 94% yield. The structure of the target compound was confirmed using 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, IR, MS, and elemental analysis.
