چکیده

Background ARVC is a genetically determined cardiomyopathy which typically manifests clinically during the second to fourth decade of life. The diagnosis is made using a scoring system of signs and symptoms, known as the revised task force criteria (rTFC). MRI has recently been shown to be of little added value in the diagnosis of ARVC in adults. Its role in the pediatric age group is unclear. We sought assess the usefulness of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the diagnosis of arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC).

Misdiagnosis of arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia/cardiomyopathy.

INTRODUCTION Diagnosis of arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia/cardiomyopathy (ARVD/C) has major implications for the management of patients and their first-degree relatives. Diagnosis is based on a set of criteria proposed by the International Task Force for Cardiomyopathies. We report our experience in providing a re-evaluation for patients who previously have been diagnosed with ARVD/C...

Improve of arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy/dysplasia evaluation by magnetic resonance using ventricular arrhythmia suppression with intravenous lidocaine

Background New recommendations from task force criteria for the diagnosis of arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy/dysplasia (ARVC/D) include regional right ventricle (RV) akinesia or dyskinesia or dyssynchronous RV contraction associated to RV dilatation or RV dysfunction evaluated by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as major diagnostic criteria. However the frequent presentation of ...

Diagnosis of arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy/dysplasia: proposed modification of the Task Force Criteria.

BACKGROUND In 1994, an International Task Force proposed criteria for the clinical diagnosis of arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy/dysplasia (ARVC/D) that facilitated recognition and interpretation of the frequently nonspecific clinical features of ARVC/D. This enabled confirmatory clinical diagnosis in index cases through exclusion of phenocopies and provided a standard on which c...

Late enhancement: a new feature in MRI of arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy?

Aim of the study was to evaluate whether late enhancement (LE) in contrast-enhanced MRI can be used to characterize fibrofatty myocardial replacement in patients with arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy/dysplasia (ARVC). Fifteen patients with suspected ARVC underwent CE-MRI using a 1.5 T scanner. Long and short axis SSFP cine images and T1-weighted fast spin echo images were collect...

Noninvasive detection of myocardial fibrosis in arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy using delayed-enhancement magnetic resonance imaging.

OBJECTIVES We evaluated the role of myocardial delayed-enhancement (MDE) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for noninvasive detection of fibrosis in Arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia/cardiomyopathy (ARVD/C). BACKGROUND Arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia/cardiomyopathy is characterized by fibro-fatty replacement of the right ventricle (RV) leading to arrhythmias and RV failure. ...
