چکیده

The high energy neutrino telescope NT200+ is currently in operation in Lake Baikal. We review the status of the Baikal Neutrino Telescope, and describe recent progress on key components of the next generation kilometer-cube (km3) Lake Baikal detector, like investigation of new large area phototubes, integrated into the telescope.

The Baikal Neutrino Telescope has been operating in its NT200 configuration since April, 1998. The telescope has been upgraded in April, 2005 to the 10Mton scale detector NT200+. It’s main physics goal is the detection of signals from high energy neutrino cascades. NT200+ reaches a 3-year sensitivity of 2 × 10cmssrGeV for an all-flavor diffuse cosmic E neutrino flux for energies 10 TeV ÷ 10 TeV...

New Developments of Photodetectors for the Lake Baikal Neutrino Experiment

The lake Baikal Neutrino Experiment has history of more than 20 years, starting from small short experiments with a few PMTs in the early 80s to the present large scale longterm operating neutrino telescope NT-200, which has been put into operation on April 6th 1998. The telescope’s effective area for muons is 2000-10000 depending on a muon energy. The rate of events due to atmospheric neutrino...
