چکیده

We study both monolayer and bilayer graphene transport properties taking into account the presence of correlations in the spatial distribution of charged impurities. In particular we find that the experimentally observed sublinear scaling of the graphene conductivity can be naturally explained as arising from impurity correlation effects in the Coulomb disorder, with no need to assume the presence of short-range scattering centers in addition to charged impurities. We find that also in bilayer graphene, correlations among impurities induce a crossover of the scaling of the conductivity at higher carrier densities. We show that in the presence of correlation among charged impurities the conductivity depends nonlinearly on the impurity density ni and can increase with ni. & 2012 Elsevier Ltd. Correlated charged impurity scattering in graphene.

We study electron transport properties of graphene in the presence of correlated charged impurities via adsorption and thermal annealing of potassium atoms. For the same density of charged scattering centers, the sample mobility sensitively depends on temperature which sets the correlation length between the scatterers. The data are well-understood by a recent theory that allows us to quantitat...

Quantum Transport in Graphene: Impurity Scattering as a Probe of the Dirac Spectrum

Since the very first investigations of the electronic properties of graphene, the nature of the scattering disorder potential has been shown to play an essential role in determining the carrier density dependence of the conductance. Impurity scattering is characterized by two different times the transport and elastic scattering times which are sensitive to the particular Dirac spectrum of graph...

The Local Density of States in Monolayer and Bilayer Graphene in the Presence of an Impurity

We analyze the effect of a single localized impurity on the local density of states in monoand bilayer undoped graphene. We show that for monolayer graphene the Friedel oscillations generated by intranodal scattering of quasiparticles obey an inverse-square law, while those generated by internodal scattering obey an inverse law. Unlike the former, the latter oscillations may break rotational sy...

Theory of carrier transport in bilayer graphene

We develop a theory for density, disorder, and temperature-dependent electrical conductivity of bilayer graphene in the presence of long-range charged impurity scattering and short-range defect scattering, establishing that both contribute significantly to determining bilayer transport properties. We find that although strong screening properties of bilayer graphene lead to qualitative differen...

Effect of a single impurity on the local density of states in monolayer and bilayer graphene

We use the T-matrix approximation to analyze the effect of a localized impurity on the local density of states in monoand bilayer graphene. For monolayer graphene the Friedel oscillations generated by intranodal scattering obey an inverse-square law, while the internodal ones obey an inverse law. In the Fourier transform this translates into a filled circle of high intensity in the center of th...
