Fine Synchronization with Uwb Th-pam Signals in Ad-hoc Multi-user Environments

چکیده
To synchronize Ultra-Wideband (UWB) signals with pulse amplitude modulation (PAM) and time hopping (TH) spreading in ad-hoc multi-user environments, we propose in this paper to develop and test a novel fine synchronization algorithm in both data-aided (DA) and non-data-aided (NDA) modes. The proposed synchronization scheme is decomposed into two successive floors or steps. The first floor consists on a coarse synchronization which is based on timing with dirty templates (TDT) acquisition scheme. In the second floor, we consider a new fine algorithm which provides an ameliorated estimate of timing offset. Simulation results and comparisons are also presented to confirm our theoretical analysis and performance improvement (in terms of mean square error) compared to the original TDT algorithm in multi-user environments. Acquisition probability of multi-user UWB systems in the presence of a novel synchronization approach
In this paper, to synchronize Ultra Wideband (UWB) systems in ad-hoc multi-user environments, we propose a new timing acquisition approach for achieving a good performance despite the difficulties to get there. Synchronization constraints are caused by the ultra-short emitted waveforms nature of UWB signals. Used in [1, 2] for single-user environments, our timing acquisition approach is based o...
متن کاملFine Synchronization in UWB Ad-Hoc Environments
UWB impulse radios (UWB-IR) have attracted increasing interest due to their potential to propose high user capacity with low-complexity and low-power transceivers (Win & Sholtz, 2000). It is approved by the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Report in which the UWB spectral mask is released and published in February 2002. Most of these benefits initiate from the distinctive characteristi...
متن کاملCyclic-mean based synchronization and efficient demodulation for UWB ad hoc access: Generalizations and comparisons
Synchronization is a performance-critical factor in all communication systems, but becomes particularly challenging in ultra-wideband (UWB) radios due to the ultra-short length of the transmitted pulses. Presence of severe inter-symbol interference (ISI) and multi-user interference (MUI) render the synchronization task even more difficult. The present paper deals with a blind synchronization an...
متن کاملImpact of Chip Duty Factor on DS, TH and DS-TH UWB Systems in Realistic Environment
In this paper, the impact of chip duty factor (DF) on direct sequence (DS), time hopping (TH) and hybrid DS-TH ultra wideband (UWB) systems is investigated in realistic environments. Rake receivers are designed to perform energy capture (EC) on received UWB signals over multipath and multi-user environment in the presence of narrowband interference. It is found that by applying lower DF in the ...
متن کاملCentral Limit Results for the Multiple User Interference at the SUMF Output for UWB Signals
In Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) communications based on Time Hopping (TH) Impulse Radio, one of the most frequently studied detectors is the correlation detector also called Single User Matched Filter (SUMF). Often the Multi-User Interference (MUI) at the output of this detector is modeled as a Gaussian random variable. In order to justify this assumption, the conditions of validity of the central lim...
