The Ruthenocuprates - Natural Superconductor-Ferromagnet Multilayers

The recently discovered ruthenocuprates have attracted great interest because of the microscopic coexistence of superconducting and ferromagnetic order. Typically, these materials become magnetically ordered at temperatures around 125-145K and superconductivity sets in between 15 and 50K. While superconductivity arises in the CuO2 layers the RuO2 layers in between order magnetically. In this pa...

1 5 O ct 1 99 9 Theoretical model for the superconducting and magnetically ordered borocarbides

We present a theory of superconductivity in presence of a general magnetic structure in a form suitable for the description of complex magnetic phases encountered in borocarbides. The theory, complemented with some details of the band structure and with the magnetic phase diagram, may explain the nearly reentrant behaviour and the anisotropy of the upper critical field of HoNi 2 B 2 C. It is sh...

NMR investigation of superconductivity and Antiferromagnetism in CaFe2As2 under pressure.

We report 75As NMR measurements in CaFe2As2, made under applied pressures up to 0.83 GPa produced by a standard clamp pressure cell. Our data reveal phase segregation of paramagnetic and antiferromagnetic (AFM) phases over a range of pressures, with the AFM phase more than 90% dominant at low temperatures. In situ rf susceptibility measurements indicate the presence of superconductivity. 75As s...

Magnetic field-induced superconductivity: A unique interplay between magnetic and superconducting orderings. (March 3, 2004)

The complex interplay between magnetism and superconductivity is a central topic in condensed matter physics due to increasing evidence indicating that unconventional superconductivity (SC) occurs in the vicinity of magnetically ordered states. The experimental observations inspired models proposing "magnetically mediated" SC pairing in the proximity of magnetic quantum-criticality in a variety...
