چکیده

Requirements continue to be a major source of problems during development and maintenance of software-intensive systems. Requirements engineering researchers, educators, and practitioners seek to create, identify, and transfer solutions to these problems into practice. However, the lack of mechanisms to integrate these efforts negatively impacts their effectiveness in improving the state-of-thepractice. This paper is the first in a series of papers that proposes an intensive program of integrated research and education, embedded in practice, which has the likely outcome of making major progress towards the assimilation of the best new requirements engineering ideas into practice. The focus of this paper is on the educational aspects of this novel approach, which are designed to facilitate life-long learning and stimulate continuous improvement of requirements engineering practice.

Integrating Cognitive Science and Technology Improves Learning in a STEM Classroom

The most effective educational interventions often face significant barriers to widespread implementation because they are highly specific, resource intense, and/or comprehensive. We argue for an alternative approach to improving education: leveraging technology and cognitive science to develop interventions that generalize, scale, and can be easily implemented within any curriculum. In a class...

Implementing the "Wiki Way" in a Course in Higher Education

Self-organised collaborative wiki work is reality in today’s businesses and students have to be prepared for the resulting requirements. Therefore, the aim of our paper is to demonstrate and to evaluate a way to practice self-organised and loosely coordinated wiki work in higher education. We simulate a common enterprise 2.0 collaboration situation to convey competences in a graduate-level clas...
