Event-Clock Automata: A Determinizable Class of Timed Automata
نویسندگان
چکیده
We introduce event-recording automata. An event-recording automaton is a timed automaton that contains, for every event a, a clock that records the time of the last occurrence of a. The class of event-recording automata is, on one hand, expressive enough to model ( nite) timed transition systems and, on the other hand, determinizable and closed under all boolean operations. As a result, the languageinclusion problem is decidable for event-recording automata. We present a translation from timed transition systems to event-recording automata, which leads to an algorithm for checking if two timed transition systems have the same set of timed behaviors. We also consider event-predicting automata, which contain clocks that predict the time of the next occurrence of an event. The class of event-clock automata, which contain both event-recording and event-predicting clocks, is a suitable speci cation language for real-time properties. We provide an algorithm for checking if a timed automaton meets a speci cation that is given as an event-clock automaton.

متن کاملEvent-Clock Visibly Pushdown Automata
Event-clock automata is a determinizable subclass of timed automata, where the clock valuations are determined by the input instead of by the transition relation. In this note, we propose event-clock visibly pushdown automata (ECVPAs) as a proper extension of event-clock automata. The class of ECVPAs is sufficiently expressive to model real-time pushdown systems, and to specify common non-regul...

متن کاملEvent Clock Automata: From Theory to Practice
Event clock automata (ECA) are a model for timed languages that has been introduced by Alur, Fix and Henzinger as an alternative to timed automata, with better theoretical properties (for instance, ECA are determinizable while timed automata are not). In this paper, we revisit and extend the theory of ECA. We first prove that no finite time abstract language equivalence exists for ECA, thereby ...
متن کاملDurational Actions Timed Automata: Determinization and Expressiveness
In this paper we present durational actions timed automata, DATA*, as a sub class of timed automata. In the contrast of T.A, the underling semantic of DATA* is the maximality semantics which claim that actions have durations and true concurrency is captured differently from choice. DATA* model is in one hand useful for modeling and validating reel aspects of systems. In the other hand, it is de...
