چکیده

In this paper, the critical transmitting range for connectivity in wireless ad hoc networks is analyzed. More specifically, we consider the following problem: Assume n nodes, each capable of communicating with nodes within a radius of r. The nods are randomly and uniformly distributed in a d-dimensional region with a side of lengthl. In this paper the critical transmission range in dense and sparse network is studied. The critical transmission range in RWP mobile network and the critical transmission range for k-connectivity are investigated. The results of this paper could be improved the accuracy of ad hoc network which is commonly used to evaluate the performance of ad hoc network protocols.

Asymptotic critical transmission radius for k-connectivity in wireless ad hoc networks

A range assignment to the nodes in a wireless ad hoc network induces a topology in which there is an edge between two nodes if and only if both of them are within each other’s transmission range. The critical transmission radius for -connectivity is the smallest such that if all nodes have the transmission radius , the induced topology is -connected. In this paper, we study the asymptotic criti...

Modeling Connectivity of Ad Hoc Network Using Fuzzy Logic & Regression Analysis

One of the ad hoc network challenges is the network connectivity due to changeable and dynamic topology of network nodes. Since in ad hoc network every nodes plays the role of router, so it is possible that the movement of one or more nodes may disconnect the network. If the network get disconnected the desired data cannot be send from source to destination .So , in order to alleviate this prob...

Determination of Critical Transmission Range in Ad-Hoc Networks

Ad-hoc networks are wireless mobile networks that do not rely on preexisting infrastructure. In such networks, multi-hop routing is used to achieve large degree of network connectivity and each node in the network acts as a router for its neighbors. The range of the radio transceivers is chosen as a trade-off between full network connectivity, the reuse of the available spectrum, and power cons...

The Critical Neighbourhood Range for Asymptotic Overlay Connectivity in Ad Hoc Networks

We first motivate the use of ad hoc overlays. In particular, we argue that overlay routing could play a role in the spreading of ad hoc networks. We then define a simple criterion for neighbourhood: two overlay nodes are neighbours if and only if there exists a path between them of at most R hops, and R is called the (overlay) neighbourhood range. A small R may result in a disconnected overlay,...

Improving Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network Stability Using Meta-Heuristic Algorithms

Vehicular ad-hoc network (VANET) is an important component of intelligent transportation systems, in which vehicles are equipped with on-board computing and communication devices which enable vehicle-to-vehicle communication. Consequently, with regard to larger communication due to the greater number of vehicles, stability of connectivity would be a challenging problem. Clustering technique as ...
