Quantum Fluctuations of the Coulomb Potential as a Source of the Flicker Noise

چکیده

The spectrum of quantum fluctuations of the electromagnetic field produced by quantized matter is determined. It is found that in a wide range of practically important frequencies, the spectral density of fluctuations exhibits an inverse frequency dependence. The magnitude of fluctuations produced by a conducting sample has a Gaussian distribution around its mean value which is inversely proportional to the sample volume. A semi-quantitative estimate shows that the found noise level is in a reasonable agreement with experimental data.

Improving the Method of Location Identification and Determining the Effect of Each Flicker Source in Distribution Networks

Voltage flicker phenomenon is one of the main power quality problems in today's power networks. Before any compensation operation for this phenomenon, the location of each flicker sources must be identified and the effect of each of them on the network flicker value must be determined. Also, methods that require least number of monitoring points are more in demand due to the limitations of meas...

A Quantum Fluctuation Operator for Deep N-Well MOSFET Flicker Noise Modeling

In this work, a quantum fluctuation operator (QFO) has been formulated to achieve realistic flicker noise simulations which are currently not available on BSIM platforms. The responsibility of the operator is to create a closer representation of flicker noise in deep n-well (DNW) MOSFETs based on probabilistic densities. It is well known that flicker (or 1/f ) noise is generated by a combinatio...

محاسبه خواص ترابرد الکتریکی و درهم‌تنیدگی الکترون‌ها در سیم‌های کوانتمی ناهمگن

In this paper, we have investigated the spin-dependent transport properties and electron entanglement in a mesoscopic system, which consists of two semi-infinite leads (as source and drain) separated by a typical quantum wire with a given potential. The properties studied include current-voltage characteristic, electrical conductivity, Fano factor and shot noise, and concurrence. The calculatio...

A Comparison between SVC and STATCOM in Flicker Mitigation of Electric Arc Furnace using Practical Recorded Data

Electric arc furnace (EAF) is one of the largest loads in electric power systems. It is highly time varying and nonlinear. Its reactive power variations cause voltage fluctuations in nearby system which is known as flicker. On the other hand the nonlinear voltage-current characteristic causes strong voltage and current harmonics in EAF. To this end Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) techn...

ELECTROCHEMICAL NOISE ANALYSIS OF 70-30 BRASS DURING STRESS CORROSION CRACKING TEST IN MATTSON S SOLUTION

An investigation of the electrochemical noise generation during Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC) of 70-30 Brass in Mattson's solution was conducted. The fluctuations of potential and current were monitored. The relationship between potential and current fluctuations has been evaluated in time domain and the obtained data has been analyzed in the frequency domain using Power Spectral Density (PSD...
