چکیده

Mobile devices, such as smart phones, tablets, and netbooks, are now becoming increasingly popular. Effective access to remote files on servers in the network should be granted to the user. Today’s common distributed file systems, such as OpenAFS, Coda, and others, are not suitable for use on mobile devices. The user is forced either to access a particular server or at least to write to a server containing a master write replica. The path to the data is not chosen by the file system. So, the data transmission cannot reflect the user’s actual position. We propose a new file system supporting a multi-master write replica and routing the

Multi-objective Dynamic Planning of Substations and Primary Feeders Considering Uncertainties and Reliability

This research uses a comprehensive method to solve a combinatorial problem of distribution network expansion planning (DNEP) problem. The proposed multi-objective scheme aims to improve power system's accountability and system performance parameters, simultaneously, in the lowest possible costs. The dynamic programming approach is implemented in order to find the optimal sizing, siting and timi...

SCAN: A Dynamic, Scalable, and Efficient Content Distribution Network

We present SCAN, the Scalable Content Access Network. SCAN combines dynamic replica placement with a self-organizing application-level multicast tree to meet client QoS and server resource constraints. It utilizes an underlying distributed object routing and location system (DOLR) as an essential component. Simulation results on both flash-crowd-like synthetic workloads and real Web server trac...

Efficient Cross-layer Routing & Congestion Control Architectures for Distributed Systems

In this proposal we first describe some major research problems in distributed systems. We broadly classify these research challenges into four categories. Each of these challenges are in the areas of congestion control, routing, large scale distributed systems (cloud computing) and Distributed of Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. We then discuss existing techniques to deal with these challenge...
