Statistical quality control and routine data processing for radioimmunoassays and immunoradiometric assays.

چکیده
Numerous methods are available for the graphical display of radioimmunoassay dose-response curves, for curve-fitting and dose interpolation, for statistical quality control, and for automation and computerization of data processing. The relative merits of these approaches are discussed. Minimal requirements for radioimmunoassay data-processing systems are presented. The features of an “ideal” system are discussed.

Automated computer analysis for enzyme-multiplied immunological techniques.
The dose/response curve in enzyme-multiplied immunoassays (EMIT) and related techniques may be described by the same "four-parameter logistic function" as has proven useful in radioimmunoassays, immunoradiometric assays (IRMA), and two-site immunoradiometric ("sandwhich") assays. This function provides an empirical description of the dose/response curve by use of an objective least-squares regr...
متن کاملGrowth hormone determination in children using an immunofunctional assay in comparison to conventional assays.
Conventional assays for determination of growth hormone (GH) in serum measure immunoreactive molecules of a blood sample. The immunofunctional assay (IFA), on the other hand, is able to determine biologically active molecules. In our study, we evaluated GH determination in children with IFA to compare these data with clinical reliable data of conventional assay systems, since there is only insu...
متن کاملPreparation of prostate specific antigen standards for immunoradiometric assay
Background: Immunoradiometric assay is one of the most common and precise methods for determination of prostate specific antigen (PSA) in clinical laboratories. Usual use of human serum in routine assays has many disadvantages such as easy contamination and precipitation, instability and unavailability. Thus in order to avoid these problems the artificial matrix was used which acts sim...
متن کاملCommercial assays for serum osteocalcin give clinically discordant results.
Serum samples from 9 healthy controls and from subjects with primary hyperparathyroidism (n = 5), Paget disease (n = 3), pregnancy (n = 5), glucocorticoid therapy (n = 5), postmenopausal osteoporosis (n = 10), and renal failure (n = 10) were used to assess the clinical agreement among eight commercially available assay kits for osteocalcin (OC). These kits differ in their assay configurations (...
متن کاملSimplified approach to confidence limited in radioimmunassay.
A simple method of calculating confidence limits for radioimmunoassay data is presented. The method involves the use of the within-assay variation in dose estimate of three routine quality-control specimens, measured in repeated assays, to estimate the confidence limits for results on unknown samples. Results for control specimens are combined by calculating the unique quadratic curve fitting a...
