چکیده

One of the first measurements at RHIC was the elliptic anisotropy of the particles produced [1]. It was found to be as large as the hydrodynamical prediction [2] and subsequent hydrodynamical calculations achieved good fits to its centrality and pT dependence [3,4,5]. In the following I review how well hydrodynamical models can fit the data published after those early papers and what constraints the data has set on the initial state of hydrodynamical evolution.

Modeling Magnetic Field in Heavy ion Collisions Using Two Different Nuclear Charge Density Distributions

By studying the properties of matter during heavy-ion collisions, a better understanding of the Quark-Gluon plasma is possible. One of the main areas of this study is the calculation of the magnetic field, particularly how the values of conductivity affects this field and how the field strength changes with proper time. In matching the theoretical calculations with results obtained in lab, two diffe...

Hydrodynamic Models for Heavy Ion Collisions ∗

Application of hydrodynamics for modeling of heavy-ion collisions is reviewed. We consider several physical observables that can be calculated in this approach and compare them to the experimental measurements.

Relativistic hydrodynamics for heavy-ion collisions

Relativistic hydrodynamics is essential to our current understanding of nucleus-nucleus collisions at ultrarelativistic energies (current experiments at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider, forthcoming experiments at the CERN Large Hadron Collider). This is an introduction to relativistic hydrodynamics for graduate students. It includes a detailed derivation of the equations, and a description ...

Can Thermalization in Heavy Ion Collisions be Described by QCD Diagrams?

The onset of thermalization in heavy ion collisions in the weak coupling framework can be viewed as a transition from the initial state Color Glass Condensate dynamics, characterized by the energy density scaling like ǫ ∼ 1/τ with τ the proper time, to the hydrodynamics-driven expansion of the quark-gluon plasma with ǫ ∼ 1/τ4/3 (or higher power of 1/τ for the boost non-invariant case). We argue...

Relativistic Hydrodynamics at RHIC and LHC

Recent development of a hydrodynamic model is discussed by putting an emphasis on realistic treatment of the early and late stages in relativistic heavy ion collisions. The model, which incorporates a hydrodynamic description of the quark-gluon plasma with a kinetic approach of hadron cascades, is applied to analysis of elliptic flow data at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider energy. It is pre...

Hard Thermal Photon Production in Relativistic Heavy Ion Collisions

The recent status of hard thermal photon production in relativistic heavy ion collisions is reviewed and the current rates are presented with emphasis on corrected bremsstrahlung processes in the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) and quark-hadron duality. Employing Bjorken hydrodynamics with an EOS supporting the phase transition from QGP to hot hadron gas (HHG), thermal photon spectra are computed. For...
