Young Measures in a Nonlocal Phase Transition Problem

A nonlocal variational problem modelling phase transitions is studied in the framework of Young measures. The existence of global minimisers among functions with internal layers on an infinite tube is proved by combining a weak convergence result for Young measures and the principle of concentration-compactness. The regularity of such global minimisers is discussed, and the nonlocal variational...

Nonlocal Impulsive Cauchy Problems for Evolution Equations

Of concern is the existence of solutions to nonlocal impulsive Cauchy problems for evolution equations. Combining the techniques of operator semigroups, approximate solutions, noncompact measures and the fixed point theory, new existence theorems are obtained, which generalize and improve some previous results since neither the Lipschitz continuity nor compactness assumption on the impulsive fu...

Nonlocal Problems for Fractional Differential Equations via Resolvent Operators

We discuss the continuity of analytic resolvent in the uniform operator topology and then obtain the compactness of Cauchy operator by means of the analytic resolvent method. Based on this result, we derive the existence of mild solutions for nonlocal fractional differential equations when the nonlocal item is assumed to be Lipschitz continuous and neither Lipschitz nor compact, respectively. A...

Existence of Solutions for Non-autonomous Functional Evolution Equations with Nonlocal Conditions

In this work, we study the existence of mild solutions and strict solutions of semilinear functional evolution equations with nonlocal conditions, where the linear part is non-autonomous and generates a linear evolution system. The fraction power theory and α-norm are used to discuss the problems so that the obtained results can be applied to the equations in which the nonlinear terms involve s...

Existence of Minimizers of the Mumford-shah Functional with Singular Operators in Two Space Dimensions

We consider the regularization of inverse problems involving certain local (differential) and nonlocal (integral) operators, by means of the minimization of a functional formed by a term of discrepancy to data and a Mumford-Shah functional term. We are partially inspired by classical linear inverse problems in image processing, namely inpainting and deblurring. We provide existence results of m...
