Optimized driving of superconducting artificial atoms for improved single-qubit gates
We employ simultaneous shaping of in-phase and out-of-phase resonant microwave drives to reduce singlequbit gate errors arising from the weak anharmonicity of transmon superconducting artificial atoms. To reduce the effect of higher levels present in the transmon spectrum, we apply Gaussian and derivative-of-Gaussian envelopes to the in-phase and out-of-phase quadratures, respectively, and opti...
متن کاملRandomized benchmarking of multiqubit gates.
We describe an extension of single-qubit gate randomized benchmarking that measures the error of multiqubit gates in a quantum information processor. This platform-independent protocol evaluates the performance of Clifford unitaries, which form a basis of fault-tolerant quantum computing. We implemented the benchmarking protocol with trapped ions and found an error per random two-qubit Clifford...
متن کاملRandomized benchmarking and process tomography for gate errors in a solid-state qubit.
We present measurements of single-qubit gate errors for a superconducting qubit. Results from quantum process tomography and randomized benchmarking are compared with gate errors obtained from a double pi pulse experiment. Randomized benchmarking reveals a minimum average gate error of 1.1+/-0.3% and a simple exponential dependence of fidelity on the number of gates. It shows that the limits on...
متن کاملEffect of random telegraph noise on entanglement and nonlocality of a qubit-qutrit system
We study the evolution of entanglement and nonlocality of a non-interacting qubit-qutrit system under the effect of random telegraph noise (RTN) in independent and common environments in Markovian and non-Markovian regimes. We investigate the dynamics of qubit-qutrit system for different initial states. These systems could be existed in far astronomical objects. A monotone decay of the nonlocalit...
متن کاملIsotopically enhanced triple-quantum-dot qubit
Like modern microprocessors today, future processors of quantum information may be implemented using all-electrical control of silicon-based devices. A semiconductor spin qubit may be controlled without the use of magnetic fields by using three electrons in three tunnel-coupled quantum dots. Triple dots have previously been implemented in GaAs, but this material suffers from intrinsic nuclear m...
