چکیده

Some ontology alignment (OA) systems find an identical bridge concept in a reference ontology to which both the source and target concept can be mapped. Then a mapping between the two is produced. Using semantic similarity within a reference ontology can find more mappings than with only identical bridge concepts. A wide variety of semantic similarity measures were implemented within AgreementMaker [1] to use semantic similarity to evaluate OA mappings [2]. Initial results of enhancing AgreementMaker with a new matcher, the mediating matcher with semantic similarity (MMSS) in place of its mediating matcher (MM) are in [3]. Briefly, the MMSS uses the MM to first produce a set of mappings MST between source and target concepts with an exact match on the bridge concepts, i.e., bS = bT as

Centralized Clustering Method To Increase Accuracy In Ontology Matching Systems

Ontology is the main infrastructure of the Semantic Web which provides facilities for integration, searching and sharing of information on the web. Development of ontologies as the basis of semantic web and their heterogeneities have led to the existence of ontology matching. By emerging large-scale ontologies in real domain, the ontology matching systems faced with some problem like memory con...

On the Influence of Description Logics Ontologies on Conceptual Similarity

Similarity measures play a key role in the Semantic Web perspective. Indeed, most of the ontology related operations such as ontology learning, ontology alignment, ontology ranking and ontology population are grounded on the notion of similarity. In the last few years several similarity functions have been proposed for measuring both concept similarity and ontology similarity. However, they lac...

Using a Reference Ontology with Semantic Similarity in Ontology Alignment

The current use of semantic similarity with a reference ontology in ontology alignment (OA) systems is reviewed. An extended matcher is described that incorporates semantic similarity with the use of a reference ontology. This matcher has been implemented using as a basis AgreementMaker’s mediating matcher. Specific experiments using the OAEI anatomy track are performed using the Uberon ontolog...

Towards Semantics-based Ontology Similarity

As the Semantic Web emerges the problem of semantic heterogeneity is becoming more acute. Ontology matching techniques aim at tackling this problem by establishing correspondences between elements of the ontologies. These techniques rely on distance metrics, often called (dis)similarity measures, to assess the similarity of elements within the ontologies. Most of these approaches are either ter...

Optimizing Ontology Alignments through NSGA-II without Using Reference Alignment

Ontology is widely used to solve the data heterogeneity problems on the semantic web, but the available ontologies could themselves introduce heterogeneity. In order to reconcile these ontologies to implement the semantic interoperability, we need to find the relationships among the entities in various ontologies, and the process of identifying them is called ontology alignment. In all the exis...
