Paper on Frequency Based Audio Noise Reduction Using Different Filters

چکیده
Audio noise reduction system is the system that is used to remove the noise from the audio signals. Audio noise reduction systems can be divided into two basic approaches. The first approach is the complementary type which involves compressing the audio signal in some well-defined manner before it is recorded (primarily on tape). On playback, the subsequent complementary expansion of the audio signal which restores the original dynamic range, at the same time has the effect of pushing the reproduced tape noise (added during recording) farther below the peak signal level—and hopefully below the threshold of hearing. The second approach is the single-ended or non-complementary type which utilizes techniques to reduce the noise level already present in the source material—in essence a playback only noise reduction

Speckle Noise Reduction for the Enhancement of Retinal Layers in Optical Coherence Tomography Images
Introduction One of the most important pre-processing steps in optical coherence tomography (OCT) is reducing speckle noise, resulting from multiple scattering of tissues, which degrades the quality of OCT images. Materials and Methods The present study focused on speckle noise reduction and edge detection techniques. Statistical filters with different masks and noise variances were applied on ...
متن کاملBinaural Noise Reduction Using Frequency-Warped FIR Filters
Binaural noise-reduction techniques based on Multichannel Wiener filters (MWF) have been reported as promising candidates to be used in binaural hearing aids because of their efficient noise reduction at any arbitrary direction of arrival of the target signal and the preservation of localization cues. The implementation of these techniques have been reported for FFT-based processing and wavelet...
متن کاملSelf-Adaptive Morphological Filter for Noise Reduction of Partial Discharge Signals
Partial Discharge assessment in the insulation of high voltage equipment is one of the most popular approaches for prevention of the insulation breakdown. In the procedure of thisassessment, noise reduction of partial discharge signals to get the original PD signal for accurate evaluation is inevitable. This denoising process shall be carried out such a way that the main features of the p...
متن کاملImproved Audio Filtering using extended High Pass Filters
Noise Filtering in audio signals has always been a challenge since the noise is spread across a large bandwidth and overlaps the spectral range of the audio signal being recovered. In audio systems all these can be kept below the audible level but ambient noise may not be avoided even if the audio system is designed according to the best practices. So, there have been several audio filtering te...
متن کاملAssessment of the Wavelet Transform for Noise Reduction in Simulated PET Images
Introduction: An efficient method of tomographic imaging in nuclear medicine is positron emission tomography (PET). Compared to SPECT, PET has the advantages of higher levels of sensitivity, spatial resolution and more accurate quantification. However, high noise levels in the image limit its diagnostic utility. Noise removal in nuclear medicine is traditionally based on Fourier decomposition o...
