Elliptic and Parabolic Second-order Pdes with Growing Coefficients

چکیده
We consider a second-order parabolic equation in R with possibly unbounded lower order coefficients. All coefficients are assumed to be only measurable in the time variable and locally Hölder continuous in the space variables. We show that global Schauder estimates hold even in this case. The proof introduces a new localization procedure. Our results show that the constant appearing in the classical Schauder estimates is in fact independent of the L∞-norms of the lower order coefficients. We also give a proof of uniqueness which is of independent interest even in the case of bounded coefficients.

On Linear Elliptic and Parabolic Equations with Growing Drift in Sobolev Spaces without Weights
We consider uniformly elliptic and parabolic second-order equations with bounded zeroth-order and bounded VMO leading coefficients and possibly growing first-order coefficients. We look for solutions which are summable to the p-th power with respect to the usual Lebesgue measure along with their first and second-order derivatives with respect to the spatial variable.

Abstract: The paper deals with optimal control problems for semilinear elliptic and parabolic PDEs subject to pointwise state constraints. The main issue is that the controls are taken from a restricted control space. In the parabolic case, they are R -vectorvalued functions of time, while they are vectors of R in elliptic problems. Under natural assumptions, firstand second-order sufficient op...
متن کاملParabolic and Elliptic Systems with Vmo Coefficients
We consider second order parabolic and elliptic systems with leading coefficients having the property of vanishing mean oscillation (VMO) in the spatial variables. An Lq −Lp theory is established for systems both in divergence and non-divergence form. Higher order parabolic and elliptic systems are also discussed briefly.
متن کاملA Note on Heat Kernel Estimates for Second-order Elliptic Operators
We study fundamental solutions to second order parabolic systems of divergence type with time independent coefficients, and give another proof of a result by Auscher, McIntosh and Tchamitchian on the Gaussian bounds for the heat kernels of second order elliptic operators in divergence form with complex bounded measurable coefficients.
متن کاملA Globally Convergent Numerical Method for Some Coefficient Inverse Problems with Resulting Second Order Elliptic Equations
A new globally convergent numerical method is developed for some multidimensional Coefficient Inverse Problems for hyperbolic and parabolic PDEs with applications in acoustics, electromagnetics and optical medical imaging. On each iterative step the Dirichlet boundary value problem for a second order elliptic equation is solved. The global convergence is rigorously proven and numerical experime...
