Hemorrhagic myocardial infarction: detection using susceptibility weighted phase imaging
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this study we determined the normal range of highpass filtered image phase values in a group of normal subjects for all sixteen segments of the heart. The range and standard deviations varied significantly across the heart, with less variance in septal segments. In a group of acute myocardial infarction patients, phase values in hemorrhagic myocardial infarction were significantly less than normal segments and well depicted as hypointense lesions in filtered-phase images.

Application of susceptibility weighted imaging in the diagnosis of hemorrhagic transformation of acute massive cerebral infarction and assessment of collateral circulation re-formation
Objective: Application of Susceptibility Weighted Imaging (SWI) in diagnosis of Hemorrhagic Transformation (HT) of acute Massive Cerebral Infarction (MCI) and assessment of collateral circulation re-formation. Methods: 50 patients with MCI in internal carotid artery system were included. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans of T1WI (T1 Weighted Image), T2WI (T2 Weighted Image), DWI (Diffusion...
متن کاملCardiovascular magnetic resonance TE-averaged susceptibility weighted imaging of reperfused intramyocardial hemorrhage
Background In the setting of acute myocardial infarction (AMI), therapeutic and spontaneous reperfusion of ischemic myocardium can lead to interstitial intramyocardial hemorrhage (IMH) which is associated with microvascular obstruction (MVO) and subsequent adverse clinical outcomes. Imaging without contrast agents (native imaging) can be used in AMI patients for additional myocardial tissue cha...
متن کاملImaging of Reperfused Intramyocardial Hemorrhage with Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Susceptibility Weighted Imaging (SWI)
PURPOSE To report initial experience with TE-averaged susceptibility weighted imaging (SWI) in normal subjects and acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients for the detection of intramyocardial hemorrhage (IMH). MATERIALS AND METHODS 15 healthy control and 11 AMI subjects were studied at 1.5T before contrast agent administration with a dark blood double inversion recovery multiple spoiled gr...
متن کاملClinical validation of susceptibility-weighted cardiovascular magnetic resonance in comparison to T2 and T2* imaging for detection of intramyocardial hemorrhage following acute myocardial infarction
Background Intramyocardial hemorrhage (IMH) identified by CMR is an established prognostic marker following acute myocardial infarction (AMI), but remains relatively underused in the clinical setting. Detection of IMH by T2-weighted or T2* CMR can be limited by long breath hold times and sensitivity to artefacts, especially at 3 Tesla. Alternative methods that can detect IMH with shorter breath...
متن کاملSusceptibility-weighted MR imaging: a review of clinical applications in children.
Susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI) is a high-spatial-resolution 3D gradient-echo MR imaging technique with phase postprocessing that accentuates the paramagnetic properties of blood products such as deoxyhemoglobin, intracellular methemoglobin, and hemosiderin. It is particularly useful for detecting intravascular venous deoxygenated blood as well as extravascular blood products. It is also ...
