review current methods in malaria morbidity and mortality estimation with the participation of the experts involved in the development of currently used methods, try to achieve consensus on the methods that should be used by WHO and in the World Malaria Report (WMR), and identify research bottlenecks that prevent reconciliation of different methodologies/results and how these may be addressed.
