چکیده

A set of sensor nodes is the basic component of a sensor network. Many researchers are currently engaged in developing pervasive sensor nodes due to the great promise and potential with applications shown by various wireless remote sensor networks. This short paper describes the concept of sensor node architecture and current research activities on sensor node development at ICTCAS. 1 The Concept of Sensor Node Architecture A sensor network is made up of the following parts, namely a set of sensor nodes which are distributed in a sensor field, a sink which communicates with the task manager via Internet interfacing with users. A set of sensor nodes is the basic component of a sensor network. Many researchers are currently engaged in developing pervasive sensor nodes [1-3 ] due to the great promise and potential with applications shown by various wireless remote sensor networks [4-10]. A sensor node is composed of four basic components as shown in Fig. 1. They are a sensing unit, a processing unit, a communication unit and a power unit. Geographic and Clustering Routing for Energy Saving in Wireless Sensor Network with Pair of Node Groups

Recently, wireless sensor network (WSN) is the popular scope of research. It uses too many applications such as military and non-military. WSN is a base of the Internet of Things (IoT), pervasive computing. It consists of many nodes which are deployed in a specific filed for sense and forward data to the destination node. Routing in WSN is a very important issue because of the limitation of the...

Architecture for Body Sensor Networks

Recent advances in wireless sensor networks have facilitate the realisation of pervasive health monitoring for both homecare and hospital environments. The concept of Body Sensor Networks (BSN) has been introduced recently where miniaturised wearable or implantable wireless sensors are used for continuous monitoring of patients. To facilitate research and development in BSN, a BSN hardware deve...

Mobile & Pervasive Computing at the University of Florida

The Atlas architecture is a framework for pervasive computing systems in the Mobile and Pervasive Computing Lab at the University of Florida, which provides a scalable network-enabled, service-oriented middleware in which numerous and heterogeneous sensors and actuators can be automatically represented as software services upon activation. It offers programmers with services and associated util...

Secure Routing for Wireless Mesh Sensor Networks in Pervasive Environments

Wireless mesh sensor network (WMSN) is a new architecture that merges advantages of wireless mesh networks and wireless sensor networks, especially on scalability, robustness and balanced energy dissipation. Secure routing in WMSNs faces with more challenges than that in traditional sensor networks by reason of multiple sink nodes and the mobility of nodes. In this paper, we propose a scalable ...

Sharing of context information in pervasive computing

Provision of services that suit the setting of a pervasive user and the reduction of user side input (less obtrusiveness) are two main goals of a context aware computing. To attain these goals, applications should be able to seamlessly interact with a large number of wireless sensor nodes in order to gather relevant information regarding the user and his environment. Since, either nodes or the ...
