چکیده
60 vs. 61 to 90 degrees) and randomized to CCh or placebo 2:1 in favour of the former. Post hoc meta-analysis of IMPRESS I and II data revealed that men treated with CCh showed a mean 34% improvement in penile curvature, representing a mean ±SD −17.0±14.8 degree change per subject, compared with a mean 18.2% improvement in placebo treated men, representing a mean −9.3±13.6 degree change per subject (P<0.0001). The mean change in PDQ symptom bother score was significantly improved in treated men vs men on placebo (−2.8±3.8 vs. −1.8±3.5, P=0.0037). Three serious adverse events (corporeal rupture) were surgically repaired. IMPRESS I and II support the clinical efficacy and safety of CCh for the physical and psychological aspects of Peyronie disease.

Human Cancer Modeling: Recapitulating Tumor Heterogeneity Towards Personalized Medicine
Despite diagnostic, preventive and therapeutic advances, growing incidence of cancer and high rate of mortality among patients affected by specific cancer types indicate current clinical measures are not ideally useful in eradicating cancer. Chemoresistance and subsequent disease relapse are believed to be mainly driven by the cell-molecular heterogeneity of human tumors that necessitates perso...

متن کاملMedical management of ischemic stuttering priapism: a contemporary review of the literature.
Priapism is defined as a prolonged and persistent erection of the penis without sexual stimulation. This is a poorly understood disease process with little information on the pathophysiology of this erectile disorder. Complications from this disorder are devastating due to the irreversible erectile damage and resultant erectile dysfunction (ED). Stuttering priapism, though relatively rare, affe...
متن کاملSickling Cells, Cyclic Nucleotides, and Protein Kinases: The Pathophysiology of Urogenital Disorders in Sickle Cell Anemia
Sickle cell anemia is one of the best studied inherited diseases, and despite being caused by a single point mutation in the HBB gene, multiple pleiotropic effects of the abnormal hemoglobin S production range from vaso-occlusive crisis, stroke, and pulmonary hypertension to osteonecrosis and leg ulcers. Urogenital function is not spared, and although priapism is most frequently remembered, oth...
متن کاملIdentification and Evaluation of Novel Drug Targets against the Human Fungal Pathogen Aspergillus fumigatus with Elaboration on the Possible Role of RNA-Binding Protein
Bakground: Aspergillus fumigatus is an airborne opportunistic fungal pathogen that can cause fatal infections in immunocompromised patients. Although the current anti-fungal therapies are relatively efficient, some issues such as drug toxicity, drug interactions, and the emergence of drug-resistant fungi have promoted the intense research toward finding the novel drug targets. Methods: In searc...
