Abstract:

ABSTRACT: Of the antisperm immunoglobulins ,only antisperm surface IgA an IgGs are significant clinically because many fertile men have antisperm antibodies present in their sera. Since the necessity of one form of sperm surface antisperm test(specific)is felt in our country, and Immunobead is not popular here for its high cost,Mixed Antiglobulin Reaction test was studied in a population of infertile male patients.mean while alongside the Tray Agglutination Test (TAT),a nonspecific assay was also evaluated. During a one year period , 29 infertile male patients were studied sequentially at Dr. Shariati Urology Clinic . The study tests were Direct MAR against IgA and igG sperm surface antigens , and serum and semen TAT tests . Results show that a single Direct MAR test is capable of evaluating immunoinfertility .Besides, an IgG MAR is enough and there is probably no need for an associated IgA MAR test. When the MAR Kit is not available ,a TAT test of both serum and semen is probably as useful as a single MAR test.

Mycobacterial agglutination-inhibition test.

The mycobacterial agglutination-inhibition test (MAIT) is described as a modification of the mycobacterial agglutination of Schaefer (MATS). It is an organized assemblage of absorption and agglutination tests which is especially useful in the identification of Mycobacterium avium isolates normally excluded from serological identification because of unstable cell suspension characteristics. The ...

The effect of antisperm antibodies measured by direct mixed agglutination reaction on in vitro fertilization rate

Background: Although in vitro fertilization (IVF) has been found to bypass the inhibitory effect of high levels of antisperm antibodies on sperm motility, fertilization rates are reduced in approximately 40% of the attempts. In this study, we investigated the relationship between antisperm antibodies measured by the direct mixed agglutination reaction (MAR) and the fertilization rate in inferti...

Mixed Agglutination with Tissue Sections

The mixed agglutination procedure was applied to tissue sections. Microtome sections of bovine tissue were placed on coverglasses, fixed by acetone or formalin, and incubated with various dilutions of rabbit antisera. The binding of antibodies to the tissue sections was detected by the addition of an indicator system composed of sheep erythrocytes sensitized by subagglutinating doses of the cor...

Rapid latex agglutination inhibition reaction test for morphine in urine

A simple and rapid immunoassay of morphine based on latex agglutination inhibition reaction has been developed. Morphine-6-succinate is a morphine derivative, and its bovine serum albumin (BSA) conjugates were synthesized and characterized. The hapten density in the conjugate was determined spectroscopically to be 8.2 mol per mol of BSA. It was found that morphine-6-succinyl-BSA (M-6-S-BSA) exh...
