Abstract:

A flow injection method is reported for the determination of ascorbic acid based on amperometric detection, using a cobalt(II) phthalocyanine (CoPc) modified graphite-epoxy electrode. The amperometric respons was evaluated with regard to pH, ionic strength of the electrolyte, flow rate of the carrier solution, injected sample volume and conditioning time of the electrode. The limit of detection was 0.013 mM (50 mL injected), and the calibration plot was linear in the ranges of 0.025-1.0 mM (correlation coefficient, r=0.9989, n=6) and 1.0-10 mM (r=0.9997, n=5). The relative standard deviation for the measurement of ascorbic acid at several concentrations was £1%. The modified electrode was found to retain its full response in flowing streams for several days of operating time. The results of ascorbic acid quantification in fruit juices and vitamin tables are reported.

COBALT PHTHALOCYANINE MODIFIED CARBON PASTE ELECTRODE AS A POTENTIOMETRIC SENSOR FOR DETERMINATION OF ASCORBIC ACID

A carbon Paste electrode modified with cobalt (II) phthalocyanine (CoPC) was used as a sensitive potentiometric sensor for determination of ascorbic acid in aqueous solutions. The potential response of the electrode is a linear function of ascorbic acid concentration over the range 5 10 to 10 M (?1- 1800 µg ML ) with a Nernstian slope of 56 mV at pH 7. The limit of detection was 0.2 µg ...

Flow-injection electrochemical determination of citric acid using a cobalt(II)-phthalocyanine modified carbon paste electrode.

The electrocatalytic activity of cobalt(II)-phthalocyanine immobilized in a carbon paste electrode for citric acid oxidation under a diffusion-controlled electrochemical process was employed to develop a selective flow injection amperomettric analysis method. Under optimized conditions, rapid and reliable determinations of citric acid (65 samples per hour) were achieved for analyses of commerci...

Flow injection amperometric determination of persulfate in cosmetic products using a Prussian Blue film-modified electrode

A flow-injection system with a glassy carbon disk electrode modified with Prussian Blue film is proposed for the determination of persulfate in commercial samples of hair bleaching boosters by amperometry. The detection was obtained by chronoamperometric technique and the sample is injected into the electrochemical cell in a wall jet configuration. Potassium chloride at concentration of 0.1 mol...

Determination of Paracetamol at a Graphite-Polyurethane Composite Electrode as an Amperometric Flow Detector
