Abstract:

The most common malignant neoplasm of the head and neck region is laryngeal cancerwhich presents a significant international health problem. The present study aims to screenpotential proteins related to laryngeal cancer by network analysis to further understandingdisease pathogenesis and biomarker discovery. Differentially expressed proteins were extractedfrom literatures of laryngeal cancer that compare proteome profiling of patient›s tissue withhealthy controls. The PPI network analyzed for up and down regulated proteins with CytoscapeVersion 3.4. After PPI construction, topological properties of the two networks have beenanalyzed. Besides, by using MCODE. the Gene Ontology (GO) analysis, the related modulesand pathways were examined. Our study screened 275 differentially changed proteins, including136 up- and 139 down-regulated proteins. For each network, it has been considered 20 keyproteins as hub and 20 as bottleneck. A number of 26 hub-bottleneck nodes is introduced forthe two networks. A total of 11 modules including 6 downregulated and 5 upregulated networkmodules were obtained. The most significant GO function in the significant upregulated modulewas the RNA processing, and the most significant one in the downregulated module withhighest score was the respiratory electron transport chain. Among 275 investigated proteins, 12crucial proteins are determined that 4 of them can be introduce as a possible biomarker panelincluding YWHAZ, PPP2R1A, HSP90AA1, and CALM3 for human laryngeal cancer.

Introducing Critical Pain-related Genes: A System Biology Approach

Introduction: Pain is valuable in diagnosis and also warning of the patients. Many molecular reagents are introduced which are related to pain. In this research, the pain-related genes are screened to identify the critical ones.  Methods: First, the pain-related genes were pulling out from the STRING database, and Cytoscape software was used to make the interactome unit. Then the central genes...

Investigating the role of signaling pathways and cancer stem cells in esophageal cancer with a therapeutic approach

Esophageal cancer (EC) is the sixth main cause of cancer death worldwide. Important genes associated with esophageal cancer include FOXO3, AKT, and GSK3β. Excessive FOXO3 expression inhibits the proliferation of cancer cells. The expression of AKT is involved in controlling cell growth in tumors. GSK3β activity is higher in cancer tissues. Given the effective role of cancer stem cells (CSCs) in...

Identification of key target genes and pathways in laryngeal carcinoma

The purpose of the present study was to screen the key genes associated with laryngeal carcinoma and to investigate the molecular mechanism of laryngeal carcinoma progression. The gene expression profile of GSE10935 [Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) accession number], including 12 specimens from laryngeal papillomas and 12 specimens from normal laryngeal epithelia controls, was downloaded from the...

eplicitation in interlingual and intralingual translations of shahnameh ferdowsi: a text linguistic approach

the relationship between language and social capital in ilami kurdish: a sociopragmatic approach
