Abstract:

Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of concurrent training on pre-inflammatory (IL-1β, TNF-α) and anti-inflammatory (IL-10) cytokines gene expression in women with type2 diabetes. Methods: 18-patients (age30-38, >130 glycemic index) were selected, randomly, and divided into control (n=6) the concurrent training(diabetes, n=6) and the concurrent training (healthy, n=6)  groups. The concurrent training protocol consisted of 3 sessions resistance training per week, 8sets with 80% one maximum repetition( and the endurance training preformed with 30- minutes running (3sets×10 minutes) on a treadmill with 70-80 maximum heart rate(70-80 MHR), immediately. The leukocyte’s IL-1β, TNF-α and IL-10 genes expression determined by the Real time-PCR technique. The quantitative expression of the cytokines gene was calculated using the 2-ΔΔ CT method. The between- groups differences in variables were determined by independent t-test (permutation test) through REST software and independent one-way ANOVA. Results: The results showed that IL-1β, TNF-α mRNA genes expression reduced significantly after the concurrent training in both the training groups in comparison to the control group (P<0.05). In addition, the results also showed that IL-10 mRNA gene expression was not expressed in leukocytes after the concurrent training in both training groups in comparison to the control group (P>0.05). Conclusion: In conclusion, the results suggest that the concurrent training modulate IL-1β and TNF-α mRNA genes expression significantly in diabetic women but could not change IL-10 genes expression. This type of exercise training seems to be more effective in reducing the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines than in enhancing anti-inflammatory cytokines.

The role of cytokines in seizures: interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-1Ra, IL-8, and IL-10

Brain insults, including neurotrauma, infection, and perinatal injuries such as hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, generate inflammation in the brain. These inflammatory cascades induce a wide spectrum of cytokines, which can cause neuron degeneration, have neurotoxic effects on brain tissue, and lead to the development of seizures, even if they are subclinical and occur at birth. Cytokines are s...

Associations of interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-1 receptor antagonist, and IL-10 with dental caries.

Streptococcus mutans is important in dental caries. Although the role of cytokines in the pathogenesis of dental caries is not clear, components of S. mutans were found to stimulate production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. We examined the associations of interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1ra), and IL-10 with dental caries. Unstimulated whole saliva and blood samples were obtain...

Effect of sitagliptin on serum levels of TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-10 in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus

Introduction: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is an inflammatory disease with alterations in immune system. Remarkably, cytokine imbalance plays an important role in pathogenesis of T2DM. The purpose of this study was to determine the serum levels of TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-10 and the effects of sitagliptin on the level of these cytokines in patients with T2DM. Materials and Methods: Blood samples ...

Expression of IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α, and iNOS in pregnant women with periodontal disease.

Periodontal disease is one of the most prevalent oral diseases. An association between this disease and pregnancy has been suggested, but available findings are controversial. We evaluated the expression levels of interleukins (IL-1β and IL-6), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) in pregnant women with and without periodontal disease in comparison wit...

P-77: Follicular Fluid Concentrations of Interleukin-6, Interleukin-8, TNF-α and Interleukin 10 in Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Women

a:4:{s:10:"Background";s:504:"While the etiology of PCOS has continued to remain a mystery, there can be found some evidence in support of the presence of chronic low-grade inflammation in women with this syndrome. One of the most significant manifestations of chronic inflammation is Pro-inflammatory cytokines. Therefore, the aim of this prospective study was to investigate the pattern of proinfla...

The frequency of interleukin-10 (IL-10) polymorphisms in patients with peptic ulcer and chronic gastritis

ABSTRACT Introduction: Peptic ulcer is a common problem in medicine with serious impacts on the quality of life of patients. It has been shown that Helicobacter pylori infection is related with inflammatory responses of gastric mucosa. However, some patients remain asymptomatic. Sustained colonization and chronic inflammation increase the risk of gastritis and peptic ulcer. The a...
