Abstract:

Preparation of 2-Chlorobenzonitrile, and benzonitrile are reported here from the corresponding 2-Chlorobenzaldehyde and benzaldehyde by the reaction of ammonium hydroxide/VPO titania, VPO bulk (ammonium metavanadate) CuCr catalyst/air system in methanol. All these catalysts showed better conversions with reasonable selectivity to aromatic. The results prove that BET surface area results show VPO is present on the catalysts surface which has high surface area, attributed to increase in activity of the catalysts.

Eco-Friendly Liquid Phase Oxidation of Some Aromatic Aldehydes With Sodium Perborate Catalyzed by Iridium (III)

Seven aromatic aldehydes dissolved in aqueous acetic acid were oxidized in quantitative to good yields by sodium perborate in presence of traces of IrCl3. Conditions were obtained for getting the highest yields under the experimental conditions.

One-pot synthesis of aromatic nitriles from aldehydes using magnetic material separated from coal fly ash

An efficient and simple procedure for the direct synthesis of Aromatic Nitriles from Aldehydes, Hydroxylamine Hydrochloride is described using magnetic material separated from coal fly ash. Coal fly ash is a waste material generated in huge amount by burning of coal for the generation of electricity in thermal power station. It contains SiO2, Al2O3 and magnetic material in significant amounts, ...

Selective oxidation of primary alcohols to aldehydes with H5IO6/V2O5 in ionic liquid

An efficient protocol for the selective oxidation of primary alcohols to aldehydes withH5IO6/V2O5 in ionic liquid [bmpy][PF6] has been developed. High yields of the products, mildreaction conditions and simple experimental procedure make this protocol complementary tothe existing methods. The catalyst can be reused for several times without obvious loss of thecatalytic activity.
