Important risk factors include tobacco consumption, elevated triglycerides, cholesterol, diabetes mellitus and hypertension. The disease is diagnosed by history and clinical examination, and in order to arrive at a final diagnosis and evolve a treatment strategy, color Doppler, MRA and CT angiography are utilized.
