[ 1 ] - KARYOTYPE ANALYSIS AND NEW CHROMOSOME NUMBERS OF SOME SPECIES OF EUPHORBIA L. (EUPHORBIACEAE) IN IRAN
The somatic chromosome numbers and karyotype features of 15 species of Euphorbia (Euphorbiaceae) from Iran were analyzed. The chromosome counts of four species including E. inderiensis (2n=18), E. polycaulis (2n=18), E. phymatosperma (2n=16) and E. gypsicola (2n=54) are reported for the first time, while the chromosome number of 11 more studied species are confirmed. We also confirm the occurrenc…
[ 2 ] - CHROMOSOME NUMBERS AND KARYOTYPE FEATURES OF SELECTED SPECIES OF ALLIUM L. (AMARYLLIDACEAE) SECT. ACANTHOPRASON IN IRAN
Chromosome numbers and karyotypes of 10 species of Allium section Acanthoprason collected from different localities in Iran are presented. Seven counts represent new reports. Chromosomal characteristics were determined using photographs complemented by statistical analyses. Our results show that the members of this section are diploid with homogeneous karyotypes characterized by the basic chromos…
[ 3 ] - PETIOLE ANATOMY IN ASTRAGALUS SECT. INCANI DC. (FABACEAE) IN IRAN (A PHYLOGENETICAL APPROACH)
Cross sections of petioles in 24 species of Astragalus Sect. Incani has been studied for a comparison of anatomical characters based on phylogeny in this section. The characters which employed in this study are as follows: Numbers of parenchymatous cell layers in pith, number of bundles, length of ventral axis, length of dorsiventral axis, diameter of ventral latéral vascular bundle (VLB) and dia…
[ 4 ] - NOTES ON THE TAXONOMY AND DISTRIBUTION OF SAMERARIA (BRASSICACEAE) IN IRAN
In the course of preparing a revision of Sameraria and its allies (tribe Isatideae) in Iran, we found some specimens of S. glastifolia (sect. Tetrapterygium), a species closely related to S. stylophora. Moreover, S. elegans is reduced to synonymy of S. armena. As S. stenophylla has also been recorded recently from Iran, a diagnostic key including all species of the genus in Iran is presented
[ 5 ] - A NEW SPECIES OF THE GENUS COUSINIA (COMPOSITAE, SECT. STENOCEPHALAE) FROM SW OF IRAN
Cousinia nujianensis from sect. Stenocephalae is described as a new species from SW of Iran. Its recognized relationships with the closest species are discussed. Illustration of the new species is presented.
[ 6 ] - A NEW SPECIES OF THE GENUS ASTRAGALUS L., SECT. HALICACABUS BUNGE (LEGUMINOSAE) FROM IRAN.
Astragalus brevipilus from NW Iran is described as a new species. This species is the first record of a group from sect. Halicacabus which has short, setulous hairs. Differences of the new species with its closest relatives are described.
[ 7 ] - A review on the nectar scale characters in some species of Ranunculus in Iran
Ranunculus L. with about 600 species is the largest genus in the Ranunculaceae. Problems in the taxonomy of the genus are due to high variability and polymorphism among different individuals and populations of certain species. Morphological characters of nectar scale have been considered as valuable taxonomical characters in some perennial species in some groups (Praemorsa, Grumosa, Rhizomatosa).…
[ 8 ] - ADDITION TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF AMANITA (AGARICALES, PLUTEACEAE) FROM IRAN
Six species of the genus Amanita are reported from Iran. Among them A. aspera, A. caesarea and A. crocea are new members for Iranian fungus flora. Three previously reported species viz. A. battarae, A. ceciliae and A. rubescens var. rubescens are studied in details. All species areredescribed and illustrated with microphotographs and drawings.
