چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate is one of the most abundant phthalate esters and it is widely used as softeners in plastic products. Malformation, carcinogenicity, the poisoning of the reproductive system, and also the disruption of the human endocrine system are the harmful effects of these substances. Materials and Methods: In this research, the removal of di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate from aqueous solutions by cellulose nanofiber non-continuous was studied. The effects of some variables such as the initial concentration of the di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate, the adsorbent dosage, the contact time, and the pH at room temperature were tested. The pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order kinetic models were used to describe the kinetic data. furthermore, the Freundlich and Langmuir adsorption models were tested based on the optimum conditions. Results: The results indicated that the adsorption of di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate follows the pseudo-second-order kinetic model (R2  =  0.9674) and the Langmuir isotherm (R2 = 0.9573). Conclusion: Due to the high adsorption capacity of the cellulose nano fiber (312.5 mg/gr), it can be concluded that it is an appropriate adsorbent for removal of di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate from aqueous solutions.

Study on the adsorption isotherms of chromium (VI) by means of carbon nano tubes from aqueous solutions

Background: The presence of heavy metals in the environment especially in water supplies have caused many concerns because of their toxicity and non-degradability. Hexavalent Chromium (Cr) is one of the most toxic metals which is used in many industries, so it is essential to remove it from industrial wastewater. In this study, we made a comparison between different adsorption isotherms in the ...

Adsorption of Bis (2-ethylhexyl) Phthalate

The adsorption of Bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) on the carbon adsorbents (Chezacarb S and Chezacarb SH) and polymer adsorbent on basis of polypropylene with polyethylene (Reo Fb) was studied. Efficiency of DEHP adsorption (concentration DEHP to 10 g.L, concentration of the adsorbents 1.7 g.L) was more then 99.9 %. By the sample from groundwater was efficiency more as 99.7 % in the case of...

Comparison of Linear and Nonlinear Kinetic Models and Adsorption Isotherms of Zinc from an Aqueous Solution by Biochar

Fruits and citrus wastes are generated in the food industry in large quantities. Their management in Iran, as one of the major hubs of fruits and citrus production, is of great importance. In this study, the biochar samples were prepared from pomegranate, orange and lemon peel waste produced in a juice factory using the pyrolysis process in the range of 400-500 °C; then their efficiency for zin...

Aqueous leaching of di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate and "green" plasticizers from poly(vinyl chloride).

A method was developed to assess leaching of several poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) plasticizers in aqueous media using gas chromatography (GC), and compared to a gravimetric standard test method (ASTM Method D1239). The GC method was a more direct measurement of plasticizer concentration in the aqueous phase. The leaching of commercial plasticizers, as well as several series of "green" candidate p...
