چکیده مقاله:

Time-frequency filtering is an acceptable technique for attenuating noise in 2-D (time-space) and 3-D (time-space-space) reflection seismic data. The common approach for this purpose is transforming each seismic signal from 1-D time domain to a 2-D time-frequency domain and then denoising the signal by a designed filter and finally transforming back the filtered signal to original time domain. The technique is efficient for ground roll and also random noise attenuation. However, if we deal with a large data set and a great number of contaminated signals with ground roll noise, a much move consuming time will be required. In this paper, time-frequency filtering is formulated and carried out by a different approach. The data is transformed from original time-space domain into several single-frequency time-space domains, and the filters to reduce noise is designed in the new domains. The transform is easily and completely invertible. The employed time frequency analysis method is a high-resolution version of S-transform. Application to synthetic and real shot gathers confirms the good performance and efficiency of the method for attenuating ground roll noise and random noise.

High frequency random noise attenuation on shallow seismic reflection data by migration filtering

Evaluation of this noise attenuation technique on real data conclusively shows significant improvement in data coherency and a decrease in high frequency random noise with no noticeable migration effects or artifacts. The method seems especially useful in situations where migration produces artifacts, high frequency random noise is present or where techniques such as spectral balancing have lef...

A pattern-based technique for ground-roll and multiple attenuation

We present a pattern-based method that separates coherent noise from signal. This method finds its mathematical foundation in the work conducted by Nemeth (1996) on coherent noise attenuation by least-squares migration. We show that a similar inverse problem can be formulated to attenuate coherent noise in seismic data. In this paper, we use deconvolution with prediction error filters to model ...

Adaptive linear prediction filtering for random noise attenuation

We propose an algorithm to compute time and space variant prediction filters for signal-to-noise ratio enhancement. Prediction filtering for seismic signal enhancement is, in general, implemented via filters that are estimated from the inversion of a system of equations in the t− x or f − x domain. In addition, prediction error filters are applied in small windows where the data can be modeled ...

time-frequency based single-frequency seismic attribute

spectral decomposition is a powerful tool for analysis of seismic data. fourier transform determines the frequency contents of a signal. but for analysis of non-stationary signals, 1-d transform to frequency domain is not sufficient. in early years, transforming of seismic traces into time and frequency domain was done via windowed fourier transform, called a short time fourier transform (stft)...

Adaptive seismic ground roll attenuation using the double density dual tree discrete wavelet transform (DWT) method

Seismologists working on the reflection of seismic data have been dealing with noise and trying to attenuate noise as much as possible without damaging a particular signal. many methods have been used to remove noise types, each being partially effective. None of the transforms have been ideal and, even at the point of transform, noise becomes added to data. The double density dual tree (DDDT) ...

Seismic frequency measurement of velocity and attenuation

Velocity dispersion and attenuation in rocks are coupled properties that depend on the pore fluids and fluid flow. Attenuation shows a peak at high partial gas saturation. The amplitude of this peak increases with frequency. With full saturation, velocities rise but dispersion remains approximately constant. A substantial frequency shift occurs with decreasing permeability or fluid mobility. Th...
