چکیده مقاله:

Seed storage proteins are synthesized as sources of carbon, nitrogen and sulfur for the next generation of plants. Reactive oxygen species serve as second messengers for signal transduction; however, molecular targets of oxidant signaling have not been defined. Here, many researchers showes that ligand–receptor mediated signaling promotes reactive oxygen species– dependent protein carbonylation. Carbonylation of the majority of proteins occurred transiently. Protein carbonylation in response to ligand–receptor interactions represents a novel mechanism in redox signaling. The role of protein oxidation in dormancy alleviation could be discussed in relation to the nature of the carbonylated proteins. Carbonylation of storage proteins has previously been reported in dry mature Arabidopsis seeds, and it was suggested that carbonylation of these proteins facilitates their mobilization during germination. Also, in sunflower seeds, breaking of dormancy in the dry state may be associated with preparation for storage protein mobilization. Hence, ROS accumulation appears to be a key signal governing cell activity during after-ripening. The role of specific proteins in maintenance of seed viability or longevity has been well documented However, quality and hardiness in seeds determined by protein contrnt

Progesterone and beta-estradiol stimulate seed germination in chickpea by causing important changes in biochemical parameters.

Effects of progesterone and beta-estradiol on morphologic (germination velocity, root and shoot length) and biochemical (activities of alpha-amylase, superoxide dismutase, peroxidase and catalase, H2O2 content, lipid peroxidation) parameters during germination and post-germination stages of chickpea seeds were studied. The seeds germinated at various hormone concentrations (10(-4), 10(-9), 10(-...

Changes of Seed Germination during the Year

It is possible to conclude that typical course of graph which analyse course of germinability during the year at every cultivar is observable. Germination usually shows a minimum in December, but mainly in January and in February. Maximum of germinability is observed in the spring and summer time. This phenomenon isn’t result of the dormancy or secondary dormancy because during of long term see...

Aspects of the barley seed proteome during development and germination.

Analysis of the water-soluble barley seed proteome has led to the identification of proteins by MS in the major spots on two-dimensional gels covering the pI ranges 4-7 and 6-11. This provides the basis for in-depth studies of proteome changes during seed development and germination, tissue-specific proteomes, cultivar differences related to quality parameters, analysis of the genetic basis for...
