چکیده مقاله:

Background & Aim: Genu varus is one of the most common injuries of the lower limb, which affects posture control by creating internal torque on the ankle and foot joints. The complication of Genu varus is accompanied by the biomechanical change of the lower limb during walking and running. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of using agility shoes on running kinetics in individuals with genu varus before and after fatigue protocol. Methods & Methods: This study was a case-control type. In this study, 14 individuals with genu varus and 15 healthy ones as control aged 20-30 years participate. Using the Bertec Force platform, ground reaction forces were recorded during running before and after the fatigue protocol. The normality of data distribution was confirmed using the Shapiro Wilk test. Two way analysis of variance with repeated measures was used for statistical analysis. All the analyzes were performed at a significance level of 0.05 using SPSS 25 software. Results: In both groups, the fxto values during the pre-test was larger than that post-test (p=0.000). Also, the fyhc values in the pretest was larger than the posttest (p=0.000). Moreover, the fypo values in the pretest were larger than the posttest (p=0.000). Conclusion: In general, running kinetics were similar in individuals with genu varus compared with healthy controls before and after fatigue protocol while using agility shoes.

Comparison of Ground Reaction Force Components during Running with Running Shoes and Control Shoes in Individuals with Genu Varum

Introduction: Running poses an essential role in maintaining cardiovascular health. However, it has been demonstrated that 2.5 to 38 injuries per 1,000 hours of running can occur. The purpose of this study was to investigate ground reaction forces components during running with running shoes compared to control shoes in individuals with genu varum. Methods: This study was laboratory and semi-e...

A comparison of running kinetics in children with and without genu varus: A cross sectional study

INTRODUCTION Varus knee alignment has been identified as a risk factor for the progression of medial knee osteoarthritis. However, the underlying mechanisms have not been elucidated yet in children. Thus, the aims of the present study were to examine differences in ground reaction forces, loading rate, impulses, and free moment values during running in children with and without genu varus. Comparing the Effect of a Fatigue Protocol on Kinematic Gait Parameters in Students With Genu Valgum and Genu Varum and Their Normal Peers

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of a fatigue protocol on some kinematic gait parameters in students with genu valgum, genu varum and normal people. Methods: Samples of this study included 37 high school students (age 16.39 years, height 172.42 cm, weight 71.10 kg) who participated voluntarily in the study and were divided into three groups of genu valgum (n=13), ge...

The effect of corrective exercise on walking ground reaction force components in children with genu varus

Genu varus is one of the malalignment of the lower limbs, the failure to correct it leads to secondary abnormalities in adulthood. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a corrective exercise program on ground reaction forces, loading rates, impulses and free moment during stance phase of walking. 17 children with genu varus were volunteered to participate in this study (Ag...
