چکیده مقاله:

Background: A correct diagnosis of the morphology of the root canal system is crucial in order to ensure a successful root canal treatment. The incidence of mandibular first premolars with three root canals has been reported to be low. This clinical case report describes a case of a successful nonsurgical endodontic management of a mandibular first premolar with three root canals. Case presentation: A 27-year-old man presented to our clinic with pain in the left mandibular premolar. The diagnosis was irreversible pulpitis based on the clinical and radiographic examinations. Hence, root canal treatment was recommended. After preparing the access cavity, the orifices were found by removing the dentinal shelves. The root canals were treated by rotary files and were obturated using the cold lateral compaction technique. Conclusion: Mandibular premolars can present with an extremely complex root canal morphology, which if not considered during the treatment, it can lead to post-treatment complications, failure, or flare-ups.

Maxillary First Premolar with Three Root Canals: a Case Report

The maxillary first premolar is the most commonly bi- rooted tooth with occasional presentation of three roots system; it is a transitional tooth between incisors and molars. Although it usually has two canals, it may rarely have three and this third canal can easily be missed. Thus meticulous knowledge of tooth morphology, careful interpretation of angled radiographs, proper access cavity prep...

Endodontic treatment of a C-shaped mandibular second premolar with four root canals and three apical foramina: a case report

This case report describes a unique C-shaped mandibular second premolar with four canals and three apical foramina and its endodontic management with the aid of cone-beam computer tomography (CBCT). C-shaped root canal morphology with four canals was identified under a dental operating microscope. A CBCT scan was taken to evaluate the aberrant root canal anatomy and devise a better instrumentat...

Endodontic treatment of a mandibular second premolar with three root canals.

AIM The purpose of this case report is to describe a nonsurgical endodontic treatment of a mandibular left second premolar with two separate roots and three distinct root canals. BACKGROUND In endodontics, the possible existence of extra canals must be considered before endodontic treatment is instituted. A wide morphological variation of the root canal system is known to exist. CASE DESCRI...

Mandibular Second Premolar with Three Roots: A Case Report

Human mandibular premolars have earned the reputation for having an extremely complex root and root canal morphology. The incidence of multiple roots and canals in mandibular second premolars is lower than those in mandibular first premolars. Mandibular second premolars with three root canals and separate foramina are very rare. In this case report, endodontic management of a three-rooted mandi...

Endodontic Treatment of a Mandibular Second Premolar with Three Roots and Three Canals

Complex root canal system with atypical variations is a common finding among mandibular premolars. Endodontic treatment in these teeth may not be successful due to the failure to recognise and treat multiple canals. This paper presents endodontic treatment of a mandibular second premolar with three roots and three canals.
