چکیده مقاله:

Theexperiment was conducted to investigate the growth performance and feed conversion efficiency of crossbred heifer at different age level in Government Dairy Farm in Bogra, Bangladesh. Twelve female crossbred heifers were equally distributed (n=3) into four groups [Group A: (7±2 months), B: (12±2 months), C: (15±2 months) and D: (20±2 months)] according to age and fed concentrate mix, rice straw and Napier grass at the rate of 2% of live weight. Napier grass and rice straw were offered at the ratio of 1:1. The concentrate mixture was provided at the rate of 1% of their body weight. It was found that dry matter content was higher in concentrate mix and rice straw and lower in Napier grass. Organic matter content was higher in Napier grass than that of concentrate and rice straw. Crude fiber concentration was higher in rice straw than that of concentrate and Napier grass. Intake of dry matter and organic matter differed significantly among the treatment groups. Crude protein intake was higher in C group heifer than other groups. Intake of crude fiber was higher in C group followed by B, D and A group. The final live weight was higher in D group than C, B and A group. Unit feed dry matter intake was higher with the advancement of age, being lowest in younger group. The heifers of D group showed higher value of feed conversion efficiency followed by C, B and A group respectively and concluded 20 ± 2 months of heifer is more economical than the other ages.

This study was performed to investigate the effects of feeding rates on growth performance, feed conversion and body composition of juvenile snow trout (Schizothorax zarudnyi). For this purpose, fish with an initial body weight of 2.17±0.1 g were fed a commercial diet (40% protein, 3.8 Kcal g-1 diet) at five ration sizes of 2%, 4%, 6%, 8% and 10% of their body weight per day, for 60 days. Growth and feed conversion efficiency of Dorper and Rambouillet lambs.

Data from Dorper and Rambouillet ram lambs (n = 79) were used to estimate breed means for postweaning growth rate, feed intake, feed conversion efficiency (kilograms of gain divided by kilograms of feed consumed), and residual feed intake on a high concentrate diet during the typical age and weight range for U.S. lamb production. Lambs were progeny of 6 unrelated sires/breed and were born over ...

Effect of compensatory growth on feed intake and feed conversion efficiency of heavyweight steers

Compensatory growth is an integral part ofNew Zealand beef production systems (Nicol and Kitessa, 1997) with restricted winter nutrition followed by good spring and summer feeding enabling a better fit with seasonal pasture production. Purchasers of store cattle (including feedlotters) often prefer animals with a previous history of perturbed growth because they believe they can benefit from hi...

Effect of Estrus Activity when Evaluating Feed Efficiency in Heifers

and Implications Estrus activity in virgin heifers tends to affect the outcome in measurements observed during performance and feed utilization tests. Prior to any testing it is prudent to identify those females that have shown estrus activity consistently and those which have not, then evaluate animals for feed efficiency grouped by stage of sexual maturity. Introduction Feed efficiency measur...

Effects of conjugated linoleic acid on growth performance, feed conversion efficiency, and subsequent carcass quality in broiler chickens.

The effect of dietary conjugated linoleic acid isomers (CLA) on growth performance, carcass composition, fatty acid composition of adipose and muscle tissues, and serum lipoproteins was investigated in broiler chickens. A total of 160 (eighty male and eighty female) chickens were allocated to four dietary treatments (0.0, 0.5, 1.0, and 1.5 % CLA) and fed a standard starter diet from 8 to 21 d, ...
