چکیده مقاله:

Characterization and extraction of plant secondary metabolites are important in agriculture, pharmaceutical, and food industry. In this regard, the applied analytical methods are mostly costly and time-consuming; therefore, choosing a suitable approach is essential for optimum results and economic suitability. One of the recently considered methods used to characterize new types of materials is molecularly imprinted polyme (MIPs). Among the various applications of MIPs is the identification and separation of various plant-derived compounds, such as secondary metabolites, chemical residues, and pesticides. The present review describes the application of MIPs as a tool in medicinal plant material analysis, focusing on plant secondary metabolism.

Molecularly Imprinted Polymer Beads Synthesis, Evaluation and Applications

Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) are artificial receptors designed for the selective recognition of template molecules. These polymers have been applied in analytical separations, as chemical sensors and in drug delivery system due to their low cost and high stability. In recent years MIP beads, especially those with good selectivity in aqueous solution, have become attractive as they can ...

High-density lipoprotein sensor based on molecularly imprinted polymer

Decreased blood level of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) is one of the essential criteria in diagnosing metabolic syndrome associated with the development of atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease. Herein, we report the synthesis of a molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) that selectively binds HDL, namely, HDL-MIP, and thus serves as an artificial, biomimetic sensor layer. The optimized polym...

Synthesis and characterization of hybrid molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) membranes for removal of methylene blue (MB).

This work reports the synthesis and characterization of a hybrid molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) membrane for removal of methylene blue (MB) in an aqueous environment. MB-MIP powders were hybridized into a polymer membrane (cellulose acetate (CA) and polysulfone (PSf)) after it was ground and sieved (using 90 µm sieve). MB-MIP membranes were prepared using a phase inversion process. The MB-...

An integrated carbon entrapped molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) electrode for voltammetric detection of resveratrol in wine

A carbon entrappedmolecularly imprinted polymer (CEMIP) electrode has been demonstrated as a sensitive and selective voltammetric sensor for the in situ detection of resveratrol in red wine. Using differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), the CEMIP was compared to the carbon entrapped non-imprinted polymer (CENIP), with the resveratrol imprinted format found to be 12 times more sensitive for the de...
