چکیده مقاله:

Thirty-seven isolates of Fusarium graminearum species complexobtained from wheat heads with Fusarium head blight symptoms were selected and used for phylogenetic studies. They were collected from different localities of Moghan plain (Ardebil province, Iran). Partial sequences of translation elongation factor 1-alpha (TEF), putative reductase (RED) and UTP-ammonia ligase (URA) genes were amplified using specific primers and sequences were analyzed using Maximum Parsimony method. Almost all strains of F. graminearum species complex belonged to F. graminearum sensu stricto. The results indicated homogeneity within F. graminearum species complex. Inter-simple sequence repeat markers (ISSR) were employed to study the genetic structure of F. graminearums.s. populations collected from five localities in Moghan plain. The ISSR markers were generated by five primers and data analysed using UPGMA method with Jaccard's coefficient. Cluster analysis showed that all isolates were divided into four clades with 82% similarity level. The analysis of molecular variation indicated that most of the gene diversity (97%) was distributed within populations, whereas 3% of the variation was found among populations. Phylogenetic species identification and genetic diversity knowledge of major agent of FHB disease will be useful in defining the risk of pathogen evolution as well as benefiting disease management strategies.

Identification of Fusarium species associated with Fusarium head blight of wheat in the North of Iran and phylogenetic analysis of the dominant species

In order to determine the causal agents of Fusarium head blight, during 2015–16, wheat heads with disease symptom were collected from 10 and six main wheat production areas of Golestan and Mazandaran provinces (N Iran), respectively. A total of 431 Fusarium isolates were obtained belonging to nine Fusarium species based on their morphological characteristics. Fusarium graminearum species comple...

Genetic diversity of Fusarium graminearum sensu lato isolates from wheat associated with Fusarium Head Blight in diverse geographic locations of Argentina.

Fusarium Head Blight is an important wheat disease in the Argentine Pampas region, being Fusarium graminearum the predominant pathogen. DNA polymorphism of the isolates was analyzed by IGS-RFLP and ISSR. IGS-RFLP and ISSR profiling were carried out using six endonucleases and eight primers, respectively. IGS-RFLP yielded 41 bands, 30 of which were polymorphic while ISSR produced 87 bands with 4...

A Simple Method for the Assessment of Fusarium Head Blight Resistance in Korean Wheat Seedlings Inoculated with Fusarium graminearum

Fusarium head blight (FHB; scab) caused mainly by Fusarium graminearum is a devastating disease of wheat and barley around the world. FHB causes yield reductions and contamination of grain with trichothecene mycotoxins such as deoxynivalenol (DON) which are a major health concern for humans and animals. The objective of this research was to develop an easy seed or seedling inoculation assay, an...

Genetic Divergence and Chemotype Diversity in the Fusarium Head Blight Pathogen Fusarium poae

Fusarium head blight is a disease caused by a complex of Fusarium species. F. poae is omnipresent throughout Europe in spite of its low virulence. In this study, we assessed a geographically diverse collection of F. poae isolates for its genetic diversity using AFLP (Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism). Furthermore, studying the mating type locus and chromosomal insertions, we identified ha...
