شمار افراد استفاده کننده از لنزهای تماسی در طی ده سال اخیر، بدلیل سهولت کاربردو در دسترس بودن انواع مختلف لنزها افزایش یافته است. هر چند که این امر موجب می گردد تعداد افراد مستعد به لنزهای تماسی افزایش یابد.
