چکیده مقاله:

SUMMARY Infertility has a special importance in gynecology in causing social, psychological and somatic prohlems. Endometriosis is a benign but progressive disorder in reproductive life and is more common in infertile women. CA 125 is a cell membrane glycoprotein. The endometrium is one the known source of this antigen and seems to be elevated in the pelvic endometriosis. In this study, from 168 infertile women that videolaparoscopy were undertaken, 27 found to have Endometriosis. Serum and peritoneal fluid level of CA 125 were determined in these patients and control groups by RIA and EIA. Serum levels of CA 125 were within normal limits in patients and control groups. But peritoneal fluid level of CA125 in patients with Endometriosis showed markedly higher than control groups. No relation is noted between peritoneal level of CAl25 and stages of endometriosis. This study emphasizes that the peritoneal fluid levels of CA 125 is more sensitive than the serum levels and can be noted in pelvic endometriosis as a diagnostic tool.
