The structure-directing effect of amine has been observed in the ionothermal synthesis of aluminophosphate molecular sieves in 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide ionic liquid. The seven different amines we tested have an influence on the crystallization dynamics and the final product, leading to the formation of pure AFI and ATV structures.

A technique was developed in the early 1980's for recovery and quantification of Heterodera glycines (soybean cyst nematode) cysts from soil and soybean roots. Cysts were collected on sieves and counted on lincd filter paper. This technique could be applied to other particles of similar dimension and density.

We study the parallel properties of the Ramanujan primes and a symmetric counterpart, the Labos primes. Further, we study all primes with these properties (generalized Ramanujan and Labos primes) and construct two kinds of sieves for them. Finally, we give a further natural generalization of these constructions and pose some conjectures and open problems.

Silicoaluminophosphate SAPO-34 molecular sieve nanocrystals have been prepared by a post-synthesis milling and recrystallization method, which is further proven to be universally applicable to other SAPO molecular sieves. The use of (salen)Co catalysts as a new class of bench-stable stereoselective glycosylation promoters of trichloroacetimidate glycosyl donors at room temperature is described. The conditions are practical and do not require the use of molecular sieves with products being isolated in good to high yields.
