aim and background: the role of behavioral inhibition and activation systems as predisposing factors in readiness for emotional and behavioral problems in adolescents has been increasingly studied in recent years. the purpose of this study was to investigate the role of these two systems in predicting the development of psychopathology in adolescents. methods and materials: the study population...

The present paper describes a systematic straightforward design of a - fractional-N PhaseLocked Loop based on HDL behavioral modeling. The proposed design consists in describing the mixed mode behavior of this - fractional-N PLL architecture starting from the specifications of each building block. The HDL models of critical PLL blocks have been described in VHDL-AMS to predict the different...

Behavioral response studies provide significant insights into the nature, magnitude, and consequences of changes in animal behavior in response to some external stimulus. Controlled exposure experiments (CEEs) to study behavioral response have faced challenges in quantifying the importance of and interaction among individual variability, exposure conditions, and environmental covariates. To inv...

Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of Cognitive-behavioral therapy based on Beck’s pattern on clinical syndrome and life satisfaction in patients with major depression Methods: This randomized clinical trial was performed on 24 patients with depression. Patients were randomly assigned into two groups of cognitive-behavioral therapy and control. Cognitive-behav...

abstract background cancer diagnosis may cause deep emotional and affective problems in patients and their families.nowadays, however, despite its rising prevalence, cancer is no longer synonymous with death. given the significance of emotional well-being in cancer patients, we decided to assess the frequency of psychological problems in seven to seventeen yearolds with acute lymphoblastic leuke...

Natural sensory stimuli have a rich spatiotemporal structure and can often be characterized as a high frequency signal that is independently modulated at lower frequencies. This lower frequency modulation is known as the envelope. Envelopes are commonly found in a variety of sensory signals, such as contrast modulations of visual stimuli and amplitude modulations of auditory stimuli. While psyc...

Rhythms occur both in neuronal activity and in behavior. Behavioral rhythms abound at frequencies at or below 10 Hz. Neuronal rhythms cover a very wide frequency range, and the phase of neuronal low-frequency rhythms often rhythmically modulates the strength of higher-frequency rhythms, particularly of gamma-band synchronization (GBS). Here, we study stimulus-induced GBS in awake monkey areas V...

Recently we found that the marked behavioral difference between isolated and grouped rats occurred under foot shock situations by measuring frequency of jumping behavior in rats (Nishikawa and Tanaka, 1978). We also postulated by the results of methamphetamine administration and the behavioral findings that catecholaminergic hyperactivity especially receptor supersensitivity might play a role i...

We investigated the behavioral and brain responses (ERPs) of bilingual word recognition to three fundamental psycholinguistic factors, frequency, morphology, and lexicality, in early bilinguals vs. monolinguals. Earlier behavioral studies have reported larger frequency effects in bilinguals' nondominant vs. dominant language and in some studies also when compared to corresponding monolinguals. ...

In this paper, we propose an all-digital frequency synthesizer architecture, based on an all-digital Σ∆-frequency discriminator. The new all-digital synthesizer is compared to previously published work. The architecture of the Σ∆frequency discriminator is verified using behavioral simulation.
