We investigate the kinetic model of relativistic Vlasov–Maxwell–Chern–Simons system, which originates from gauge theory. This system can be seen as an electromagnetic fields (i.e., Maxwell–Chern–Simons fields) perturbation for classical Vlasov equation. By virtue a nondecreasing function and iteration method, uniqueness existence global solutions 1.5D case are obtained.

Five action principles for the Vlasov-Poisson and Vlasov-Maxwell equations, which differ by the variables incorporated to describe the distribution of particles in phase space, are presented. Three action principles previously known for the Vlasov-Maxwell equations are altered so as to produce the Vlasov-Poisson equation upon variation with respect to only the particle variables, and one action...

The article contains a review and new results of some mathematical models relevant to the interpretation quantum mechanics emulating well-known gauge theories, such as scalar electrodynamics (Klein–Gordon–Maxwell electrodynamics), spinor (Dirac–Maxwell etc. In these models, evolution is typically described by modified Maxwell equations. case electrodynamics, complex wave function can be made re...

We homogenize Maxwell’s equations for Drude-Born-Fedorov chiral crystals, using the multi-scale technique. We find that the homogenized material is described by dispersive anisotropic effective matrices, derived from frequency dependent coupled auxiliary problems. For low frequencies, these matrices may not be positive definite.

f0(v) log f0(v)dv for all t ≥ 0. Assume that in a dilute gas or plasma, particles collide by pairs, due to a repulsive force proportional to 1/r, where r stands for the distance between the two particles. Then if s ∈ (2,∞), the velocity distribution solves the corresponding Boltzmann equation [14, 15]. But if s = 2, the Boltzmann equation is meaningless [14] and is often replaced by the Landau ...

Abstract. Large transverse momentum distributions of identified particles observed at RHIC are analyzed by a relativistic stochastic model in the three dimensional (non-Euclidean) rapidity space. A distribution function obtained from the model is Gaussian-like in radial rapidity. It can well describe observed transverse momentum pT distributions. Estimation of radial flow is made from the analy...

The classical theory of dispersive signal propagation by Sommerfeld and Brillouin proposed in 1914 provided the first proof within the classical Maxwell–Lorentz theory that an electromagnetic signal could not propagate faster than the vacuum speed of light in a causal dielectric, also introducing the signal velocity and the precursor fields (or forerunners). Modern asymptotic theory has extende...

We study dispersive mixed-order systems of pseudodifferential operators in the setting of Lp-Sobolev spaces. Under the weak condition of quasihyperbolicity, these operators generate a semigroup in the space of tempered distributions. However, if the basic space is a tuple of Lp-Sobolev spaces, a strongly continuous semigroup is in many cases only generated if p = 2 or n = 1. The results are app...
