Periodic noise widely appears in raw images and is often accompanied with white noise. The removal of such compound noise is a challenging problem in image processing. To avoid using the time-consuming methods such as Fourier transform, a simple and efficient spatial filter called optimal soft morphological filter (OSMF) is proposed in this paper. The filter is a combination of basic soft morph...

We show that while the length ω iterated ultrapower by a normal ultrafilter is a Boolean ultrapower by the Boolean algebra of Př́ıkrý forcing, it is consistent that no iteration of length greater than ω (of the same ultrafilter and its images) is a Boolean ultrapower. For longer iterations, where different ultrafilters are used, this is possible, though, and we give Magidor forcing and a general...

The majority of nonlinear filters used in practise are stack filters. An algorithm is presented which calculates the output distribution of an arbitrary stack filter S from the disjunctive normal form (DNF) of its underlying positive Boolean function. The so called selection probabilities can be computed along the way.

background: anzali wetland has been subjected to high levels of pollution due to contamination from several industrial sites in addition to agricultural chemicals. mussels have been widely used for monitoring pollution in aquatic ecosystems, because they, as filter feeders, bioaccumulate pollutants. therefore we decided to evaluate anodonta cygnea for its application as a bio-monitor for copper...

Probabilistic membership filters are a type of data structure designed to quickly verify whether an element of a large data set belongs to a subset of the data. While false negatives are not possible, false positives are. Therefore, the main goal of any good probabilistic membership filter is to have a small false-positive rate while being memory efficient and fast to query. Although Bloom filt...

In this paper, we describe our verification tool F-Soft which is developed for the analysis of C programs. Its novelty lies in the combination of several recent advances in formal verification research including SAT-based verification, static analyses and predicate abstraction. As shown in the tool overview in Figure 1, we translate a program into a Boolean model to be analyzed by our verificat...

SUMMARY Histiocytosis X is associated with idiopathic Proliferation of histiocytes and infiltration of eosinophils in bone marrow Spleen, Liver and other Soft tissues. Clinically there are three distinct forms:  1 - Eosinophilic granuloma is the most benign and Localized form of the disease.  2- Letterer- Siwe is the most malignant, generalized and fatal form of the disease.  3- Hand- Schul...

In previous work, we presented an applicability of soft set theory for decision making of patients suspected influenza. The proposed technique is based on maximal supported objects by parameters. At this stage of the research, results are presented and discussed from a qualitative point of view against recent soft decision making techniques through an artificial dataset. In this paper, we prese...

An exclusion particle model is considered as a highly simplified model of a limit order market. Its price behavior reproduces the well known crossover from over-diffusion (Hurst exponent H > 1/2) to diffusion (H = 1/2) when the time horizon is increased, provided that orders are allowed to be canceled. For early times a mapping to the totally asymmetric exclusion process yields the exact result...
